meeting him for the first time. How she was upset that he was going to be her TV husband and that she was disappointed because she didn't see how the producers thought a great looking couple

He could have said the same about her since she wasn't in the attractive category:lol: That is something you keep to yourself not reveal it in a interview


And of course Sherman couldn't say anything when he saw her feelings based on her actions since he needed the job

What, did she prefer George's brother Henry (I think his name was), the first Jefferson "father figure" we met on All In The Family?

I remember the series went on quite a while before George actually appeared on camera.

She wanted a taller and bigger man to play her husband. Sherman was short and skinny

Isabel Sanford was an airline telephone reservation clerk when she was cast as Louise Jefferson. In fact, she was so insecure about her job on TV, she kept her job with the airline for something like a year after she started on AITF. I would think she would be happy to be on TV with anyone. Sherman's strong personality as George was the only reason the Jefferson's got their own show.

Makes sense since she was only seen occasionally on AITF
