Tattoo's weren't all that common in the 70's and for a young teenage girl to have one had to be extremely rare. Right now I'm watching Mackenzie in a 1974 episode of Movin' On and she has the tattoo there. I wonder how old she was when she got it. Did she have it in American Graffiti?

The tattoo is fairly small. It looks like a star. It's on her left wrist I believe. I really haven't seen all that much of One Day At A Time except for the 1st season. I know that it's visible in at least one 1st season episode.

It wasn't a temporary or fake tattoo because she still had it over 30 years later at the cast reunion. You can clearly see it at the 3:14 mark.
