I would like to know what caused the break up between the marriage of Loni Anderson and Burt Reynolds. What happened? Infidelity? They did adopt a son named Quinton and stayed together a long time and then an acrimonious divorce.
If I could meet Burt Reynolds, would love to ask him, but the guy is a childhood hero (from the South, Smokey and the Bandit never gets old) and would not want to make him mad. Something happened between those two that was unforgivable and they hate each other now (seemingly).
So what happened?

It's tough for marriages to work under more pedestrian conditions, so I can only imagine the load it takes in Hollywood. As it is, they were only married five years, which is usually when couples hit that first bump in the road, called the 'five year itch'. I think to look for the "villain" in this is too easy. Relationships are only as strong as what each brings to the table. Looking good together is not the glue that holds it together. Not for long anyway. Perhaps from a surface analysis we can apply that here.

There are a lot of articles online about this. Here's one of them.

I read that and I think it still goes back to what I was saying. We really don't know these people on any level. It's a he said/she said fest. He says she was a bad mom and sleeping around and she said he was abusive. But neither explains why they both chose to live in that environment which they each dressed up to look intolerable. I'm not a big fan of people airing their dirty laundry after the fact. They selected one another and lived under one roof together. They each had influence and monetary advantage to go elsewhere if they wanted to. Loni herself admitted that marriage is not her strong suit, so did she inadvertently validate Burt's claims? I have no clue. But I know talking about it publicly only serves one purpose and that is to soil the image of the other person. There's no therapeutic gains talking to a Hollywood reporter. From what they each say about themselves, it certainly looks like a marriage that never should have happened.

Wouldn't having sex with Loni Anderson be like hitting the lottery? If you got the best, why ---- the rest?

It only seems larger than life when your wanting it and don't have it. When it's yours to have, not so much.

You got that right. I was married once to one of the most beautiful women I have ever seen, and she is still gorgeous at almost 60 years young. Even other women would comment on her stunningly good looks.
However inside she was black and cold. She could turn on the charm and fool most everyone, but the real person, the ugly person, would always come out. I made it 2 years. Her next husband did for 4 and her next for 1. The current one is on year #2.
I am huge Burt Reynolds fan and I have read things over the years that he was a "hard one to live with!" So I would be willing to bet it was about a 50/50 thing between the two from what I have read about Loni Anderson also. Gold Digger is a common phrase I have read when it came to Loni.
