Hello Out There From TV Land,

I have a suggestion for Nick at Nite and how the retro cable network CAN improve: first off, have Nick at Nite separate itself from Nickelodeon and become its VERY OWN 24-hour basic cable network, 7 days a week.

Secondly, rather than show the same old **** every night ("Full House" & "George Lopez" to name 2 examples, both of which if you ask me have LONG past Nick at Nite's expiration of acquired programming), Nick at Nite should showcase a VARIETY of different types of shows--sitcoms, dramas, even theatrical films of the '80s & '90s, along with Classic TV shows from 60 years worth of Television from the 1950s to the 2000s, AND each show would be commercial free, complete, uncut, AND unedited, as originally broadcast, without ANY sort of editing whatsoever, on ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, UPN, WB and The CW to name the 7 Broadcast Networks, with each show provided by the 7 Major Studios: MGM Domestic Television, 20th Television, Buena Vista Television, CBS Television Distribution, Sony Pictures Television, NBC Universal Television Distribution and Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution.

I know this may be nothing more or less of a Pipe Dream, but hey, I can dream, Can I?

That being said, if I were in charge of Nick at Nite instead of Cyma Zarghami, I'd make that a reality; in fact, I may very well send a copy of this message to her via email after this.

Here would be MY proposed 24/7 Nick at Nite Lineup.

In your dreams. No way this would ever happen in real life. It would be nice but we can dream on. Nick at Nite has gone way down hill and doesn't care about viewers.

I don't know whether fantasy schedule thread should be allowed. And secondly, I don't think anyone's interested in 60s or 70s shows anymore as this is now a new decade. Nick@Nite more commonly used for sometimes 80s/90s/2000s. And maybe 2010s.

I think a better idea would be to have Nickelodeon go back 24/7. Nick@Nite definitely needs huge overhaul.

I've seen better lineups in police stations but there's nothing wrong with his thread. If it weren't allowed then the Create a Network (http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/showthread.php?t=327820) threads would've been closed long ago.

And secondly, I don't think anyone's interested in 60s or 70s shows anymore as this is now a new decade.

A new decade has nothing to do with it. If people weren't interested in shows from the 60's and 70's then there would be no need for all these retro TV stations.

Well anyway I think I have my suggestion for Nick@Nite improvements. Starting this fall 8PM hour and 6AM hour should be Nickelodeon. Off the clock really needs to go. Nick@Nite will need to change the logo back to light blue since there are no Nick at Nite originals airing anymore. Instant Mom and See Dad Run will be burned in NickMom network.
Facebook Nick at Nite and website really needs to update it.
Nick at Nite needs to stop simulcasting TVLand sitcoms, which really hurt the ratings.
More retro for 80s and 90s like Step by Step, reacquire Home Improvement, Family Matters, 8 Simple Rules, Blossom. George Lopez and Full House has got to go. Friends will move to late night hours. Fresh Prince and Everybody Loves Raymond will be leaving the lineup by fall.

This is a lot of licensing rights all at once, simultaneously. lol
I think thats why they can only get certain TV shows at a time...cuz its expensive.
But in a perfect world yes. This my kinda line up. I think you could even throw in some Facts of life, Gimme Break!, Punky Brewster, Silver Spoons.
The Jeffersons maybe? =P:p

With the exception of the game shows most of the shows listed are available on DVD in one form or another. Why pay up to $150.00 or more a month to watch heavily edited commercial-infested programing :angryfire when for less than HALF that amount you can, within a year have nearly all of these shows uncut and without commercials? :D

I don't really understand why they are still trying to keep Nick at Nite going. TV Land is now so similar in terms of their programming, that it doesn't really make sense for Nick at Nite to continue. Disney Channel has 24/7 kids programming and has great ratings. I don't know why Nickelodeon hasn't done the same.

Full House and George Lopez are edited, but not totally butchered. Though most George Lopez episodes ending Nick at Nite did butcher the ending.

Fresh Prince, Everybody Loves Raymond, Friends Nick at Nite mostly did butcher many parts, so they could play more commercials.

Suggestion is to Nick at Nite to stop butchering and editing many parts and play careful edits.

Is THIS a lineup or what?

Honestly, I think Nick at Nite NEEDS to do this in order to improve ratings.

There is no need for a thread like this because it;s not August 1, 2003. Since 2003 we have tons of cable channels and digital channels that provide classic tv programming so TV Land and Nick@Nite are no longer relevant because of the channels below

TV One
Hallmark
Antenna TV
Me-TV
Cozi-TV
Bounce TV

With all those channels who the hell needs Nick@Nite to improve?

If Nick@Nite doesn't care about any shows or ratings, why don't they kick Full House out of primetime?? The overall ratings and primetime and even Full House numbers dropping under 1 mil viewers. I agree with others, Nick should go back 24/7.

^^^There's this, and also the fact that retro channels tend to struggle with attracting advertisers since the primary audience for these shows (if any) are older than the key 18-49 demographic.

And tenter unfortunately has a point. The fact is the vast majority of people don't want to watch reruns of old show and instead prefer to watch something new (even if the quality isn't as superior).

Also, Nick@Nite already exists as a separate 24/7 channel. It's called TV Land.

In fact, when TV Land first launched, it was originally called "Nick at Nite's TV Land."

I take it that you've talked to the vast majority of the people about this? You, Tenter, nor I can speak for the vast majority but all these retro channels that keep popping up tells me just one thing and that is at least one of us is wrong and it's not me.

And every time they pop up, they go to crap or disappear altogether not even a couple years later (I.E. Game Show Network, Boomerang, TV Land, The HUB Network, etc.). The Baby Boomer generation that loved the shows on these channels are no longer in the key demographic that mainstream advertisers care about.

Even ratings for "The Price is Right" were sliding and it was struggling to attract advertisers during Barker's final years because the show seemed dated to the viewers that mattered (remember the infamous "Diabeetus!" commercials?).

That said, Retro TV may have found a home in diginets. This is because the advertisers don't base their buys on Nielsen ratings but what makes the phones ring. Also, since they're subchannels and stations typically get the multicast programming for free, the costs to run these diginets are ridiculously low.

Please reacquire Home Improvement to Nick at Nite or TV Land this fall!!!

Since Nickelodeon already gained 8PM hour on Mon-Wed. My updated request to Nickelodeon to gain 8PM hour on Thursdays. Nickelodeon should bring back 6AM hour or replace with Paid Programming. Nick at Nite needs to stop simulcasting TVLand originals like Impastor, Jim Gafigan Show, and Younger to air 10PM hour which had resulted low viewers on that network.

Nick at Nite really needs to add bumpers/update banners or refresh since the banners in bottom of TV had been outdated. The logo needs to change back to blue and orange, rather than orange.

Bottom line is that Nick at Nite needs VAST improvements. I will say that MickeyMouse's schedule wasn't good. It was EXCELLENT. If only this could come true. Btw, Mickey, you did some good work.

I do have a question. You have "Nick at Nite at the Movies". What type of movies would you show? Same goes for TGIF. What shows would those be?

And honestly, the more retro channels the better. I'd rather have Antenna TV, ME-TV, COZI than maybe half the channels I have already.

These Nick at Nite at Movies were just a commercial showing upcoming movies in theatres this week, or soon.
These movies what they showed in this year overall, showing in descending order [I don't know how to list all, since I barely watch Nick at Nite]: Mission Impossible: Rouge Nation, Pixels?, Minions, Jurassic World, Spy?, Hot Pursuit, Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2, Cinderella, The Lazarus Effect, Fifty Shades of Grey, Shaun the Sheep Movie, SpongeBob Out of Water, The Woman in Black.

Nick at Nite at movies has been doing this since 2009 when they first rebranded.
