I just saw it on Facebook. It will probably only be on weekends since it only lasted one season.

Oh neat!! I have never seen that show! I'd like to check it out! I'm thinking this might be one they put on very late at night or way early in the morning though!

I just looked up the premise of this show and this is what it said

The story of the relationship between a man and his mother, the latter having been reincarnated as a 1928 Porter automobile.

That is kind of creepy! His mother was reincarnated as a car??? Reminds me of that movie Christine by Stephen King!

There's so few episodes - I wonder if it will be paired with something else to fill a weekend hour? It's About Time? My Living Doll? The original Smothers Brothers' sitcom would go well with it.
Well considering Antenna TV has aired up to four episodes a weekend of "Gidget", another one season wonder, "My Mother The Car" could presumably be aired that way too.
BTW, I've heard that "My Mother" was syndicated in the late 60s. Can anyone confirm this?

It was syndicated in the late 60's / maybe early 70's. I remember seeing it on local Los Angeles syndicated channel KCOP 13.

I'll have to watch the episodes when Antenna TV starts airing them. If I like the show, I might buy the complete series DVD. The DVD's have uncut episodes. I'm pretty sure Antenna TV's airings will be edited versions. I like the fantasy sitcoms of the 60's, but I think they went too far with the talking car gimmick. I'll just have to watch some episodes and see what I think. Avery Schrieber is in this show, he's usually funny so that's a plus.

One of these retro TV stations needs to start airing episodes of Please Don't Eat The Daisies. I'd like to see that show also. If it comes out on DVD, then it might show up on TV also. Just like My Mother The Car. It's out on DVD, now soon to be on TV.

And Jerry Van Dyke! He's funny! I'll check it out, I like the fantasy type shows from the 60's too. Bewitched, My Favorite Martian and Green Acres was off the wall most of the time too! ;)

I haven't seen Please don't eat the daisies in years! They do need to show it again. I remember the big cute dog more than anything ! :)

How do you like some of those animal shows from the 60's? Shows like Flipper, Daktari, Gentle Ben? I have Gentle Ben on DVD and the 1st season of Flipper. Haven't got around yet to buying Daktari on DVD, I'm thinking about it though.

I LOVE Flipper!! That's one of my favorite shows!!;) I watch it on Saturdays on Antenna! It's such a cute show, and cool too !;) I love Florida for one thing. And Flipper is just adorable! Dolphins are so cool, and the beautiful scenery in the show! ;) And the kids seemed to never have to go to school! When I was a kid , I'd love for my Dad to have a job like their father and live like that, in shorts all day, swimming and with an adorable dolphin that was pretty much like their own pet! How cool is that? ;) And I think the Dad, Porter Ricks is HOT!!!! :)

I also love Lassie and Mr. Ed!! ;) I'm not familiar with Daktari or Gentle Ben really!

I bought the complete series set of My Mother The Car. I'd only seen a handful of episodes before so it was nice being able to enjoy the whole show. Great cast, very funny writing, I'd say it's underrated, and definitely doesn't live up to its reputation of being one of the worst. Also liked the guest appearances- including a very young Charles Grodin.

I'm glad the people who have antenna tv will get to see this, I've seen it before and it was in the late 90's

I remember watching this show when I was a kid when it was on originally. So I bought the DVDs when they were released. My biggest shock was the show is in beautiful bright color. When I saw it on TV as a kid it was in b/w cause we only owned a b/w tv in 1965. So all these years I thought the show was a b/w show, really looks nice on DVD in such accurate Technicolor type color. Not faded or discolored, really nice. Now if only the show was as funny as I remember it being. It's still fun to watch, but don't expect any big laughs. ;)

remember they used to show them back-to-back on weekdays at 2 and 2:30 in the afternoon.

For so many years, it was considered a tremendous blunder that Jerry Van Dyke passed on the lead role of Gilligan's Island and later accepted this one. Regardless of any of that, it was just an off-the-wall concept and worth a look...!

I'm glad Daktari and Gentle Ben were mentioned here -- though not sitcoms, the former featured a very young Erin Moran in its final season cast, and the latter starred young Clint Howard.

Daktari has been on some in recent years, but aside from the pilot, Gentle Ben hasn't -- and it was a good series, I used to watch it in syndication -- dad Dennis Weaver cruisin' along on one of those big fan - type of boats on the Everglades. The series bridged the big gap between Weaver's Gunsmoke and McCloud series work.

I remember in the late 60s when Channel 5 in New York aired reruns of My Mother the Car. It aired on Saturday mornings and later moved to Sunday's after their long-running kids show Wonderama. It would be great to see the show again, thought it was considered one of the worst shows of all-time. It definitely put the gimmick in gimmick shows.

I recently saw the first episode on HULU and thought it was pretty funny, I can't see why so many people hate it.

I caught a couple of episodes and enjoyed them. I think the cast members worked well in their roles. Randy Whipple is familiar to fans of Family Affair and My Three Sons.

I always preferred Jerry Van Dyke's role as a supporting cast member on Coach as opposed to his various guest spots over the years, and here I see that he was able to carry My Mother the Car admirably well in the lead role. I'm glad Antenna has picked this series up.

I saw the first 2 episodes of My Mother the Car and it was fair. . The plots were ok but it somewhat poked along. The episode could have been 15 minutes . Then on Antenna Tv I saw Its About Space. I struggled through episode 1 but I felt it went too slow and decided to pass on Episode 2.

I haven't seen them yet!!! They will be on tomorrow right? What time?

I'm just now starting to get used to the new weekday Antenna schedule. I'm not used to the new weekend schedule yet at all!

Missed this thread. Just another reason I love Antenna TV. They're always doing something special...cute rollout. Now, I hope they air Room 222 and The Adv. Of zozzie snd Harriet. Whatta great channel. And this freebie channel is mostly better than many of the crappola cable channels where you have to shell out bucks.

now if only they'd stop crunching the credits and doing that split screen, I've stopped watching them because of that. It's a shame because they're a good channel and I really wish I could watch them. The same with COZI-TV and DECADES.

And ANTENNA TV isn't a cable channel, it's an over-the-air digital sub-channel.

OH Nuts!

I'll admit Antenna 's not 100% re show endings and the sometimes really looonnng commercials. But it's FREE, airs fantastic vintage shows and has kicka*s marathons.

Also, I do realize it's not a cable channel; the point I was making is that because it's not cable, if you get it locally, it's free. AndaLOT better than most (all?) vintage show cable channels where you have to pay.
