I just got this channel and I see that Empty Nest airs quite a bit during the day. The first question that came to my mind was if anyone is making a DVD set of the show.

I may make a set of the show but have not decided on it yet. I have kept all of this week's episodes on my DVR so it is a possibility I may make a set at some point.

The episodes run longer than the butchered versions Hallmark showed so they are close to unedited if they aren't already.

That's interesting about the unedited versions, thank you for that.

Not surprisingly, I don't get this channel. I have DishNetwork's biggest package, and the majority of the shows I want are on 3-4 channels I DON'T get.

This morning's episode was 23 minutes and a couple of seconds long. They appear to be unedited but I don't have any original airings of that specific episode to compare it with. I am sure it was unedited though because Laff shows very limited amounts of commercials.

You can probably get yourself an Antenna if there is a Laff affiliate on your area. Sadly Dish, Direct TV and AT&T Uverse does not carry digital sub channels so channels like Antenna TV, Metv and Laff are never carried.

These over the air channels are the only channels to watch these days because cable is just garbage.

With all of these great over the air channels on TV these days I always choose my providers according to which over the air channels they provide. Antenna TV, Bounce and MeTV were a deal breaker if they were not included. Now that Laff is available it is a must have as well when it comes to me choosing providers.

there is not a good quality set of nest around. so make a set. it is a no brainer. or get the eps, upload to cloud and i will make a set.

Well that depends on how you look at it. I know of at least 1 person that recorded the recent Hallmark eps, which I believe went to midway through the 5th season. They didn't air the full run, so you'd have to go with the lower quality older broadcasts to complete the set, but it was still better than what was available before.

As an amusing side note, I used to watch reruns of this show on a satellite channel back when we used the BIG-ASS DISH FROM HELL! I don't know if it was a "local affiliate" in some other market or what, but what was really weird was that the screen just went black when it would be time for commercials. I also think they used to air it at really weird times.

I also remember them airing a couple of new episodes AFTER the show ended its regular one and I really couldn't figure that out. One of them was about Harry and Charley going camping.

If I do decide on something it will probably be to make a set because uploading the episodes to another website would take just as much energy as making a set and editing out the commercials.

I have seen the sets currently out there and none of them are that good. The one from Hallmark contains horribly butchered episodes and no ending credits while the set with episodes from NBC is almost unwatchable and the audio drops are too frequents. It takes away from the viewing experience.

In terms of quality the Hallmark set is the way to go but in terms of edits and ending credits it is not that good of a set. Also that set was recorded from an HD channels so there are black bars on the sides of the picture.

The Hallmark set leaves a lot to be desired.

I tried making a Laff Set, but am not getting a good enough signal at this time. I wish either Directv or Time Warner would add it.

I have decided to make a set because the show may have not been as popular as Golden Girls but it still had a following so a set should be made just because fans out there need one. Even though a studio has not released one does not mean a fan can't put a good one out in the mean time.

I just got the channel last week and have not deleted any of the episodes I recorded so I am going to start making a set. The show airs 3 times a day playing multiple episodes from season 1 or season 7 at this time which means I should have every episode from 1 and 7 in a couple of days. Season 2 starts next week.

Wow. Are you watching Laff via cable or OTA? I had a hard time getting it over the air but now that I have it on my cable provider I don't need to do that anymore.

I get it OTA. I hope either Directv or Time Warner adds it soon.

My local station broke into programming for a missing person report during the season 7 episode called Dear Aunt Martha this morning so I am missing about 3 to 4 minutes of the last couple of minutes. Hopefully this one airs again soon because it is the only episode I need to complete season 7. Season 1 finishes up on Saturday so I should have every episode from that season by Sunday.

I have not looked at the schedule for the next few weeks so I don't know if the other seasons will air in a consistent schedule or not.

Glad someone is capping these, it's one of the last few shows I really wish would get a proper release. I'm a tad too far to pick up the OTA signal from the nearest Laff station, otherwise I'd help out with this as well.

On Facebook Laff has been asking people to contact their cable providers to add the channel to their line up.

Providers like Direct TV, Dish, and AT&T will not carry channels like this and Antenna TV or any OTA station due to capacity issues.

I contacted my provider several times before they finally added this channel.

I almost got LAFF on Time Warner, as it was supposed to replace a disappearing network called LiveWell, but than somehow LiveWell survived, and the switch was never made.(One day the guide even had changed from LiveWell to LAFF, but that's as far as it went).

That sucks but my situation was similar. I got several leads that came up short about when Laff would actually appear on my line up. I convinced my provider to drop one of the several duplicate channels they have to add something like Laff. Who needs needs duplicate channels of anything?

Not only did I get Laff but I also got Cozi and Grit TV added as well. I sort of like Cozi but can't get into Grit

I have Directv and they do have a some OTA channels. METV is one.

It always depends on the OTA channel and where it is positioned by its affiliate. There is an entire thread on why Direct TV, Dish and AT&T do not carry OTA stations.

It all comes down to a want to carry those channels or not having the capacity to carry these types of channels.

The only reason I have cable is because I get a good amount of what's being broadcast over the air on my channel line up. The sports packages aren't the best on my cable provider (satellite beats them in that category) but I can stream most games online.

Comcast and Charter in my area are very good at getting the newest OTA stations a few months after they launch so I tend to stick with them over Dish, Direct, or AT&T.

On LAFF, do they display television ratings in the top left corner at the beginning of the show or not?

Yes, that appears for a few seconds after each commercial break. There are not other interruptions besides a few second little banner at the bottom of the screen that says what you are watching and what is coming up next. Nothing too distracting.

Every show gets full opening and closing credits and they appear to be unedited for the most part so that is a bonus. I hope Laff continues airing their shows with limited commercial interruptions because Antenna TV is going downhill and I am looking for a new station to view.

Never mind. I found out really quickly that the new guy in season 5 is Carol's love interest and the new girl is the 3rd daughter that remained unseen through most of the show.

I now have season 7 completed on disc and season 1 will be complete by the end of the week.

At this rate I should have the series in 4 to 5 months if not sooner
