Despite popular belief the show is not being aired unedited. I have a majority of the show from NBC original airings and the show ran for 2 minutes or longer than what is being aired on Laff.
It is no big deal but I don't want people going around saying the show is unedited or push a DVD claiming that the episodes are unedited.

Sadly it appears that this show will never be on DVD since it is not as popular as The Golden Girls.
Laff is probably the last chance we have to see this show for a long time. After it is gone from Laff I doubt another network will pick it up.

I just bought the complete set on DVD and each episode is about 23 minutes with no commercials.
Sounds about right.
Were the originals 25 minutes long?

Some episodes air unedited on LAFF, but some are shortened, it's a bit random. The pilot is cut down about 40 seconds compared to original airing but many season one episodes are as originally aired. They originally ran about 22-24 minutes each - some shorter and some longer.

From what I've noticed, a lot of the scene transitions are shortened.
You can hear that the music they come with are edited and sometimes I can hear it.
Also the opening theme is at times shortened ("One by One" portion missing and skips to "Sometime the answer can be hard to find")
I had a hard time getting Dr Weston and Mr Hyde, so I broke down for the Dailymotion file.
I did eventually get it from LAFF and there was more. Like Red chasing after a Fire Truck was not on the Dailymotion cut (or should I say the Hallmark reruns), Dr Weston mad on drugs brags longer over curing diaper rash.
So, as I'm sure the originally aired episodes were longer,
it seems the LAFF cuts were re-edited to not omit as much...
cutting into transition shots more than reducing actual scenes.
