"There are a couple of big problems here, and lots of smaller ones,” says Matt Zoller Seitz of the FX comedy. "For starters, Leary's Johnny is the most generic and poorly defined major character, after his daughter….He's mainly a collection of familiar Leary postures and attitudes.” PLUS: It’s a clichéd diatribe (http://www.theatlantic.com/entertainment/archive/2015/07/review-sexdrugsrockroll-fx-denis-leary/398696/?) about the state of contemporary music starring a creaky, sexist antihero, it’s a note-perfect look at music (http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/review/sex-drugs-rock-roll-tv-808584), aging and family. it’s a great title, a good premise (http://variety.com/2015/tv/reviews/sex-drugs-rock-roll-review-denis-leary-fx-1201536110/) and a just-OK show, it’s a boring antihero show (http://www.npr.org/sections/monkeysee/2015/07/14/422945345/sex-and-drugs-and-boredom-in-the-golden-age) that’s gone where many antihero shows have gone before, and Leary talks (http://variety.com/2015/tv/features/denis-leary-fx-sex-drugs-rock-roll-1201540436/) about his inspiration for Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll.

Am I the only one who thinks this has been really good so far?

Nope. I really enjoy it. Its one of the few shows out there that has no weak links in the cast.
