http://www.slate.com/blogs/browbeat/2015/07/16/emmy_nominations_this_year_were_pretty_spot_on_stop_complaining_about_who.html

Emmy voters have to leave some things out, says Willa Paskin. "Do the Emmys continue to have a bias toward people who have already won an Emmy? It sure does!” she says. "Does The Americans deserve a Best Drama nomination more than almost any of the shows nominated in that category? You bet! But you know what? Niecy Nash was nominated for Getting On and so was Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt’s Tituss Burgess. If you would rather focus on the forever slight of Nick Offerman’s Ron Swanson, it’s not only because that is a really big slight. It’s because seeing the bad in the Emmys is just way more fun than seeing the good.” PLUS: Look at this year’s noms from a half-glass full perspective (http://time.com/3961303/emmy-nominations-2015-analysis/), there was a lot less to b*tch and complain about (http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/bastard-machine/tim-goodman-glaring-oversights-emmys-809227) this year, Emmy voters proved to be shockingly up-to-date (http://www.theglobeandmail.com/arts/television/john-doyle-the-emmy-nominations-are-almost-legit/article25529855/), another mixed bag (http://www.sfgate.com/tv/article/Emmy-nods-a-disturbingly-typical-mixed-bag-6388671.php) of nominees, and a changing of the guard (http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/race/emmy-nominations-tv-academy-is-809164) helped usher in the new nominees.

I want any comedy but Modern Family to win. It does not deserve to break Frasier's record of 5 straight Emmys to start out, bad enough it's already tied.

I always liked The Middle better but it never gets any respect.

Modern Family did not win this time.
