Because it sounded stupid for parents not being able to make their daughter's wedding. And there wasn't even a reason given just that they could not make it. lol Wonder why those two actors was not available to return in that final episode?

BTW: Until I saw the ABC episode I always thought there was a scene inside Mr. Furley's apt after the wedding but just cut from syndication.

It was a rush job to end the show. I'm sure the producers/writers weren't even thinking about Janet's parents at the time. They deliberately were trying to make people not care about Three's Company and to get excited about Three's A Crowd. Of course, the audience must have really resented the half-assed way this show ended after watching it for over seven years.

Then they should have just had Janet get married at city hall off camera:lol: That would have sped things up

That would have just pissed more people off.

The audience probably cared a lot about Janet and they couldn't have just brushed her aside THAT easily.

I guess it makes sense, the parents probably would have been there if it was a Three's Company Finale instead of a transition to Three's A Crowd

Well you never know. All we know is they were just interested in keeping the money flowing in, and that required forgetting Three's Company and moving forward with Three's A Crowd.

It is kind of resentful how it seemed the producers of Three's Company really weren't in tune with their audience. Maybe they just didn't care.

All the things we would have seen on camera if it wasn't no Three;s a Crowd

1. The guests inside Mr. Furley's apt

2. Phillip and Janet's new home

3. Janet's parents

4. Regale Beagle

Possibly. I do agree more care would have been put into the finale if it really was the finale and there weren't any future spin-offs planned.

1. The bathroom

From what I read on here, they didn't have any bathroom scenes in the last two seasons of Three's because they moved to a different studio and they didn't even bother to build another bathroom set.

The confining apartment was made even more confining by doing away with all the bathroom scenes.

Really??? Wow I never picked up on that:lol:

Oh wait, there was one in the first ep of season 7 when Janet threw jack through the bathroom door. Aside from that I can't think of anymore

Did we see the inside of the bathroom on that one? I don't think so.

There were lots of times they went in and out of the bathroom in the last two seasons, but we never actually saw any scenes take place in the bathroom.

You right, we just saw Jack go in the bathroom to talk to Janet and they shut the door. Then you saw Jack flying out

Something I noticed is that they switched the camera angle in Jack's bedroom from facing the closet and door to facing the wall behind the bed, except in the ep with the ventriloquist. I also don't remember any shots outside the apartment.

Another thing is that there were a number of one-time sets used that drove up the expenses the last two years: the salon where Jack got the mustache, the room above the Bistro, and the critic who came to dinner's office. For the most part, they could have worked around those. They made good use of the other critic's office trying to get the letter back, though.

Yeah, I liked the new camera angle of Jack's bedroom in the last two seasons. Made the room look bigger I thought.

Ahh good catch spotting that, you can also tell the difference in the lighting of the apartment, from the softer muted lighting in season 6 to the much brighter lit look of season 7 and 8.

They probably did away from constructing the bathroom to make room for Jack's Bistro set too.

How long did Janet know that guy before they were married.
It felt like less than a week.
I like to think that her parents didn't show up because they didn't approve.

The finale was delayed until fall, so it's assumed several months passed. But in SitcomLand, finales can be rushed, so this isn't uncommon. Some shows didn't even have a finale; for instance, The Jeffersons and Married . . . with Children were both cancelled during hiatus and never had finales, and both shows ran 11 years.

If you also notice in that episode, they had a different bathroom door than usual.

Yeah but we never saw the inside of the bathroom again. Jack breaking through the door was as close as we got to recalling there was a bathroom.
