I have a question. I am really a fan of the first two seasons of Happy Days (before it went before a live audience) and I would like to own them in some form.

I don't know the show as well as I do others so I'm wondering if someone here who does can help me.

Am I better off buying the DVDs or burning the first two seasons off of TV? I know MeTV started with the first season several weeks ago.

I'm sure the DVDs are clearer and more complete but exactly how much of the music is lost? Is Rock Around the Clock the theme or has that be substituted? I know even some of the episodes I've seen on TV have music substitutions. Am I kind of splitting the difference between the two?

Definitely go with the DVD set for the first season. I believe everything is completely intact with that one. Skip the DVD set for season two. It's complete crap. Almost every piece of music that could be substituted is (including "Rock Around the Clock"), and some dialogue is cut as a result. The versions that air on television have some music substituted, as well, and scenes are cut, but I still think that's a better option.

That's terrible! I don't understand why anything should be cut on DVD or digital download. It's not like there are time constraints for those formats!
