I came across OZ about 2 years ago on Vacation in Ocean City, MD as our hotel offered free HBO. Didnt know it was a regular series til I myself got HBO about 6 months later.

I just bought the entire first season of OZ on video. Glad I did as now I know why that main characters were sent to prison in the first place.

Now that we are between seasons on OZ, anybody else out there watches this show? What do you think will happen in the next season?

I myself dont know anybody else who watches OZ and they feel its too violent for them.

I have been watching Oz and really enjoy it, unfortunately the channel that carries here in Ontario hasnt started showing any recent episodes. The last show I saw had the kitchen blowing up from some bomb and the reverend(luke Perry) had just been bricked up in a wall.

Writer-producer Tom Fontana, who made NBC’s groundbreaking Homicide: Life on the Street, as well as HBO’s debut scripted drama, the dark prison series Oz, was on panel at the ATX Television Festival in Austin, Texas with fellow showrunner David Simon. The exchange about HBO began when Simon was discussing how the network supported his acclaimed struggling drama The Wire. “I remember we got terrible numbers for season 3, and they never came back,” Simon said. “I remember calling [then HBO executive] Carolyn Strauss and saying, ‘Are we canceled?’
