Barbara was telling Mark..........."everything has to go right because it's the most important day in a woman's life"

So what about the man's life? That day has no importance? Always about the f*cking women:lol:

Like it's not a very special day for the groom?
Barbara could really be a dingbat sometimes.
It also pissed me off how she was so selfish in getting upset that Julie might be having labor pains so close to her wedding.
SELFISH.

LOL, I know. As a man that makes me in no rush to get married.

Barbara really pissed me off in this episode. She acted like such a giant baby when Mark was trying to explain his side of things... regarding the morning golf and how Barbara keeps saying "It's MY wedding..... it's MY day..." She wouldn't even let him speak. She just storms out of the apartment like a spoiled brat.
I was completely on Mark's side.

Yes, I now admit that we are the same person. TVFactFan is masquerading as a 43 year old divorced mother of two girls and I, WAWWIE am masquerading as a single 40 year old man from Philly.

Stop being a doofis. Some people actually do agree with each other. :)

Ha ha ha I will be honest, I use to think the same thing! Ha ha I really did! It is just one of those funny situations. Now Wawie and Solomon in regards to Barbara's attitude, it seems she became more snarky and meaner in the later years as Julie became sweeter during season 8. That was a change that I observed as well.

LOL!! Did he even have a bachelor party? Seemed just that get together of Mark's mom and everyone at Ann's apt. and Schneider filming! :D

Barb was being a bit of a Bridezilla , let's see what happens tonight!

LOL @ Schneider trying on the dress that Julie was to wear with a fake pregnant belly!

Not the nicest word to use, especially as it seems it might run in your family. If you feel you must insult, you should probably dial it down a bit. We all can't be as brilliant and insightful as you. Enjoy the 12 a.m news peacesign:

Yeah!! Let's get back to the show, and drop the insults!

I thought the scene in Barbara's bedroom between her and Julie was so touching! Lots of memories of them sharing the room and how they were women now, Barbara getting married, and Julie big and pregnant!!

I got a tear in my eye!

Why do you guys argue with TVFACTFAN. He has proven that he is no the nicest or most sensitive person on here. The use of the words "******" and "******" are some of the slurs he uses constantly.

Lord knows when he and I got into an argument a couple of months ago he suggested that I "kill myself" which speaks to his anger and lack of empathy for others.

He makes the silliest comments on this page and you guys insist on arguing with him. Just let him do what he wants. Don't let him ruin your good time here.

And he wonders why he is thrown off of so many boards. Maybe it is his disregard for other people.

You're probably speaking rhetorically, but speaking solely for myself, because it's fun. I can speak intelligently with 99% of the people here, so you have to allow me some entertainment. Besides, I think he likes me. I haven't been faux cursed at or told to die yet.

I am with Bonniegirl and Josh Larson and all of those who want peace on this board.

Lets drop the insults. I am sick of the sniping that is supposedly so amusing. Its just juvenile.

This is a message board about a sitcom that ended 31 years ago.

Can't we just focus on the show without hurling insults and throwing derogatory and outdated terms at each other?

OK , to move on, Maybe Barbara was being kind of b*tchy and Bridezilla-ish cause after all she hasn't experienced her "marital duties" yet! LOL!!! In other words I guess that would make a girl nervous to be a virgin on the wedding night ( something I don't know about , I certainly wasn't a virgin on my wedding night) !!!! LOL!!! I wasn't really even nervous at my first wedding. My second way less even !! Anyway !! Barbara is pretty much gonna buy the hog without even sampling the sausage first!!!!:D

Excuse me if that was a little crude! I am trying to lighten the mood here a bit! ;) :D

Oh you know it!!!! I'm sure he wasn't!!!!!;) OMG the " double standard, from the good old days"! The girls had to wait and the men could be with the "loosey goosey" type girls! :D But this is the 80's already. It wasn't even like this as far back as the mid-late 60's!!!! This was women from the old days! Wait till the wedding night! and the ones that didn't most likely came up pregnant and had to get married!!! ;)

In ODAAT they decided to make Barbara old fashioned and virtuous ! I guess to be a good role model for young girls to not sleep with their boyfriends!;) And a contrast to bad girl Julie, who we all know "sampled the sausage" before her wedding night! Most likely she "sampled the sausage" way back with Chuck when they ran away together! :D

Barbara can get away with acting like that because she is so pretty.

She herself once said she got away with murder because of her looks.

There was a moment in that episode where they were referencing Barbara and her appearance and you could see the reaction shot of Mack and the look of pain/jealousy on her face. She has said before in interviews that she was very envious when Val became such a knockout.

Anyway, Mark should have rescheduled his golf date and made his wedding the only priority of that day.

For once I am on Princess Barbie's side.

I for one don't think Mark seemed all that bright! Is it just me who thinks that? A dental student? He didn't seem like he was the sharpest tool in the box! But ya know golf was coming into fashion with young yuppies around that time,(before that it was like an old rich , fart type of thing) and I remember my Sister's X husband was big into golfing around that time. So I mean maybe if Mark was into it, and thought it would relax him before the wedding , oh well!

Wawwie
06-30-2015, 09:54 PM
^^^ I agree. If Mark needed to go golfing to relax before the wedding... so what??? It's not like he was going to go out for a lap dance. It was GOLF, for Pete's sake! Like Mark said.... what should he do instead before the wedding? Sit in a corner and count his toes? Barbara was being ridiculous IMO.

Yeah, Mark was goofy and Barbara had him by his ba**s even before she married him!!! She was pretty much becoming Annie Romono 11!!! :D

After seeing them get married, Barbara could have done SO MUCH better than Mark, he wasn't ugly but he wasn't cute, handsome or hot either! IDK!!! IMO he wasn't her "Knight in shining armor" that she would hold on to her virtue for! I just think this was poorly written and these two weren't meant for each other!

Julie did better, Max was way hotter , even though there really wasn't chemistry there either because of Mack's drug addiction , but that's another story, but at least Max was cool !!!! ;)

Many years ago (the 80's) I was listening to the car radio and the subject of brides and their pre-wedding behavior came up. The caller said something that sounded like good advice. They said that about a week before the wedding and especially right before the wedding, the groom should not take everything the bride says too seriously or personally; they're going through a stressful time and their emotions are usually all over the road.
