George Lopez
Sabrina the teenage witch (or was that still the 90's)?
Some Reality shows ( esp. Breaking Amish and Return to Amish , Myrtle Manor ,Kardashians, and I really liked Honey Boo Boo, until (well we all know what happened)!

That 70s Show
Scrubs
King of Queens
Becker (started in '98)
Everybody Loves Raymond
Gilmore Girls (dramedy?)
Bernie Mac (hilarious binge-food shopping ep!)
I would say about two-thirds or more of those I didn't really like at first...! I'll watch the occasional Big Bang Theory and Family Guy also. And my niece has the complete series set for Friends.
Bonniegirl 06-27-2015, 01:06 PM I will add That 70's show to my list also. And Family Guy (sometimes, have to be in the mood for it, and if the ep isn't too over the top insulting or gross )!!!
Patty Duke 06-28-2015, 07:53 AM Reba
The King of Queens
Everybody Loves Raymond
Mike and Molly (I did like the show BUT it changed, don't watch it now)
Big Bang Theory (I did like the show BUT it changed, don't watch it now)
And that's all folks!
Yong Fang 06-29-2015, 11:57 AM I adore Parks and Recreation. To me, this was The Andy Griffith Show/Green Acres of the 21st Century. It was about a small (-ish) town and all the weird characters.
The Office (U.S. AND U.K., but U.S.) was another fantastic show, which to me never Jumped the Shark, even after Steve Carrell left. Like Parks, it was an ensemble program with a lot of weird and interesting characters in different circumstances.
My Name is Earl was excellent when it started. Lost its way and got bad. raising Hope was excellent when it started (one of the best Pilot shows), but also went to crap several seasons later. Same with Arrested Development.
I also liked some reality shows. Like Swamp People, Hoarders and Intervention.

bh7812 07-07-2015, 04:18 PM The list of shows since 2000 I like is far smaller than my list for 80s and 90s stuff is but there have been a few stahdouts. Not many but there's been a few.
Early 2000s:
According to Jim-have only seen half of it but it's fantastic!
That 70s show- the Boy Meets World of the early 2000s. That's the best description of it I can give. I felt very much though the show is about Eric and his friends, Kurtwood Smith made the show as did Steven hyde's character. Bob to a lesser extent but I felt the other two characters and their actors really bumped it up a level and gave it a lot of life.
8 Simple Rules- loved it though I haven't seen the final season of it yet. The loss of John Ritter was terrible, he did an outstanding job with Season 1. He kept saying it was his absolute favorite project and it showed. It still is heartbreaking remembering him at the Teen Choice Awards the summer between Seasons 1 and 2, literally days before he died. He was extremely happy for the show's success, grateful to the fans and truly excited for Season 2. I felt despite the loss of him season 2 was still quite good. James Garner did an admirable job of filling that hole but I'm sure even he knew he never could replace John. Did very well with what he had though.
Complete Savages- Genuinely laugh out loud funny sitcom that never took itself seriously. I'm still unhappy it got cancelled! It really was very much a TGIF type show. Had it premiered several years earlier than it did I have no doubt it would have lasted quite a few seasons. Probably not Boy Merts World or Family Matters level success or ratings but I certainly think it could have been on the level Step By Step got to success wise. I have the full 18 episode run and am grateful for that. The producers tried to find a new home for it after the ABC cancellation but couldn't and that disappointed me. Good, fun, light hearted sitcom that deserved better.
Recent sitcoms:
2 and a half men
Big Bang Theory- I wasn't a fan initially but after seeing the pilot last year I bought the first 6 seasons and I'm certainly one now. Not a die hard fan but it's a fun multi cam to watch.
Mike and Molly- one of my personal favorite shows that I've collected and been watching on DVD as each season has come out. The ensemble cast makes this show. Carlton, his Grandma, Molly's Mom and Sister, Vince and the nerd with the glasses are all where the show excels. They're crucial to this show and without them the show wouldn't have lasted as long as it has. Best multi cam in 15 years IMO easily.
The Middie- I strongly dislike single cams but this show has been the lone exception. Smartly written and presented. I'm not at all a fan of Patricia Heaton but the rest of the characters and their casting choices are brilliant. I've seen Seasons 1 and 2 so far.
Anger Management- really have enjoyed it I have to say. I like Charlie Sheen in this much more than I did his character on 2 And a Half Men. Lot deeper of a character with way more going on personally. The ensemble-his therapy group is what makes this show too. Without them it wouldn't have lasted long. But they're such an odd, eccentric bunch that they add quite a few dimensions to it. I just navy the last season to go but I have to say I'm pretty happy with the output here.
Girl Merts World- I'll say this, I've only seen the pilot but I liked it a lot. I have all of Season 1 on my iPad. Need to get the Season Pass for the next few volumes soon. I've just been agonizing on whether to really watch it now, once Season 2 is done or wait till the series is complete. It's been...a tough back and forth argument with myself. It's getting watched at some point just deciding when to start has been tough. I'll also say it needs to be moved to ABC. That's where it should have been from the beginning. Should never have been a Disney Chsnnel show and I seriously question why Paul Lee hasn't moved it over. If he seriously wants to fully reboot TGIF he needs that show for it. There's no way around it.
icecream 07-07-2015, 04:41 PM Complete Savages- I have the full 18 episode run and am grateful for that.Has it been released on DVD? I only saw 7 episodes but liked what I saw.
bh7812 07-08-2015, 03:02 AM Has it been released on DVD? I only saw 7 episodes but liked what I saw.
I'm glad you enjoyed what you saw of it :D it's unfortunately not out on officially. I was fortunate enough to get it online via a torrent BUT that was already a good few years ago and I'm pretty positive it's not alive anymore. I had to dig pretty far underground just to find that one show. It was a royal pain and I'm lucky it was really the show and not a virus. The episodes are all excellent quality picture and audio wise ironically enough. I'd say they go between 8 and 9 for both sound and picture quality.
The show's biggest problem was ABCs scheduling of it surprise surprise. For half of the one season it got in 2003 it was on...like Tuesdays or Wednesdays I want to say. The first half of the season it struggled with ratings. Rather than cancel it mid season they tried moving it to Friday. Did much MUCH better there but it wasn't enough to earn a renewal :( If they'd scheduled it on Fridays to start with I think it would have gotten renewed without much trouble. The cast and crew all were hoping it'd get renewed and get a chance to take off. For quite a few years before it did premiere on ABC they shopped it around and I'm dumbfounded they didn't pick it up when it was first pitched. I would have been much happier and would have preferred this way more than Teen Angel, You Wish or Clueless which all got shots on TGIF. This was a TGIF show and fit that block perfectly. It's just sad, it was definitely strong enough to get a couple years at least beyond that first year. Just an overall fun show that was enjoyable.
The best episode of the 18 episodes by far was the one where one of the boys wanted a motorcycle, wanted to ride one more than anything. He and his brothers were shown one of those safety videos showing the dangers of riding a motorcycle. Un deterred, sure enough he gets his hands on a motorcycle and just plows head on into either their or their neighbors house I can't remember which it was hahaha! As he's pulled from the wreckage his brothers ask if he's ok...groaning whining and in a lot of pain he says "Yeah I'm okay" like a cross between a whine, groan, whimper and crying.
We need more shows like this :( they should have shopped it to NBC after the cancellation but from what I understand they shopped it pretty much to everyone it was just no one wanted it :(
