Maybe they will. Both Family Matters and Growing Pains have all their seasons available to stream on Amazon, which to me is a good thing because it means that Warner Bros, has all the episodes prepped and just need to be put onto disc. If Growing Pains can continue on DVD then so can Family Matters.

One can only hope.

My big question is this: If seasons 5-9 of "Family Matters" are available online for download, does this mean there are no music rights problems with any of these episodes? Basically, what I'm asking is...do the same rules apply for online downloads as they do with physical DVDs when it comes to music rights?

I find it outright funny that when someone posts an article in the "Growing Pains" thread about Kirk Cameron's beliefs everyone goes crazy with replies but when news of a new season is being released on DVD surfaces....the thread is dead silent. Just goes to show people had rather talk about the negative rather than the positive.

I plan to buy the DVD but for me personally (and I know your comment was not directed at me) unless it's one of my all-time favorites, I rarely comment on that show's board that I'm buying the DVD.

Also, when you mentioned the music rights for "Family Matters", I hadn't thought about that. I know that Hulu has some episodes of "Taxi", including "Vienna Waits" which was edited on the DVD but uncut on Hulu. So I guess streaming sites and DVDs are not always the same versions.

To my knowledge, the only time the boards REALLY blew up with excitement was when "Mama's Family" was announced by Time Life. Not even "Batman" or "The Wonder Years" generated as much chatter as Mama did!

Maybe I just get too overly excited about these things but I love my TV on DVD lol.

July 14th is the release date for season 5. It's up for preorder now in the WB store and amazon.

So glad to see this coming out! I preordered it already!! Can't wait to receive it!!

Yesterday the Warner Archive Collection posted a brief video (less than a quarter minute) to social media sites such as Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. The caption reads "What's coming to #WarnerArchive in July? Drumroll please..."; while that drumroll sounds, you can see a hand flipping through various DVD boxes for upcoming July releases from Warner's popular MOD (manufacture on demand) program.
