Just saw that they were doing a split screen and on one screen it was the closing credits of One day at a Time and the other screen was the opening credits of Three's Company

Why the hell did they decide to do that? LOL

there's an entire thread on here where some people are complaining about that, they're only doing it to some of their shows. They're not doing it with NEWHART and ALL IN THE FAMILY to name 2.

They say on their Facebook page that surveys show that most viewers like a smooth transition between shows. I just hope that this isn't the beginning of a downward slide for them and they don't become like TV LAND and NICK AT NITE.

They hadn't been doing it at night before. This is really bad now. At least they still aren't doing it with The Jeffersons but I wonder how long that will last.

I think they do it on purpose to discourage people who are wanting to record shows for a collection. So they mess with the end credits and do other things so people won't bother recording the shows. If Antenna TV says that most viewers prefer a "smooth transition" between shows, LOL that is a pile of BS, they can come up with a better lie than that. It is an insult to the viewers intelligence if they really think people believe that bullcrap. People who watch the old shows want to see them in their unaltered form, end credits and all. No cropping, no split screen garbage.

Well they defintely stopped anyone from having a One day at a time collection when they decided to air the eps in a crazy order lol

They don't do that with the jefferson or threes company so why do it with a show that is not complete on DVD?

I honestly wonder if someone new joined the staff at Antenna TV in recent months and if it's possible this person may have previously worked for a cable network that dos split screen credit crunches and decided to bring it to Antenna TV? I know whoever decided to it, I hope they get fired.

Agreed! That is a pile of BS. We do not prefer this smooth transition. I think Antenna TV is really afraid some viewers will change the channel once the end credits start, so they are trying to prevent that by starting the next episode immediately so they don't lose viewers.

It would be nice if they did it as a one day thing part of a marathon but that's it

The next thing will be cutting down on the theme songs. That's how it starts.

I can't ever picture watching the jeffersons or all in the family without hearing the theme song

That's how they should run their commercials, all at the same time on 4 separate little screens.

TV One has changed the closing credits for the Jeffersons

1. The closing credits appear on the screen toward the end of the episode

2. The closing theme is removed

I noticed this just yesterday, I think its ok between back to back shows, but throw in a commercial between different series.

Why the hell did they decide to do that? LOL

Because it frees up another 30 seconds or so of time to run another commercial. Unlike 20 or 30 years ago, there are so many channels, so the viewing audience is split up into small pieces. A typical broadcast outlet can only charge an advertiser a fraction of what they could charge years ago to air a commercial because the viewing audience is so relatively small. With lesser ad revenue per commercial, they have to make up the difference by running more commercials. So they have to squeeze in a commercial wherever they can.

But reasonably speaking, how many catheters can they except to sell in a day?
