Tonight- an ep from 2/22/81, then one from 5/16/82
Tomorrow- the same ep from 2/22/81, then one from 4/19/81:confused:

Looks like CBS of these episodes aired on the same night on April 5, 1981 and I guess they are airing together tonight because both episodes are connected

Some info on the episodes below

9pm episode...Caveat Emptor.....Aired originally as a one hour broadcast with episode Alex's Project. Both episodes have the same closing credits. Episode was postponed on 3/14/81

9:30pm.....Alex's Project...Additional dialouge was written at the end of the script for this episode since CBS planned on airing Caveat Emptor at 9pm right after this episode which aired at 8:30pm.

So Antenna TV aired the episodes tonight in the wrong order because the 9:30pm episode sets up the storyline for the 9pm episode:lol:

We're not agreeing, title-wise. I have it as (times EST) :

Tonight 9-Out of Bounds
9:30- It's in the Cards
Tomorrow 11-Out of Bounds
11:30 -Small Wonder 2

Not in Philadelphia

I'm in NYC. The AntennaTV website agrees with my cable guide. I'm probably watching the NBA tonight(especially since neither ep is Barbara focused), but I will check in at halftime to see what they're showing.

Strange that we both have different titles

Here in Houston, my cable guide lists the following:

For Sunday:
8:00 (CST) - Caveat Emptor (S6/Ep18)
8:30 - Alex's Project (S6/Ep17)

For Monday:
10:00 - Out of Bounds (S6/Ep15)
10:30 - Small Wonder Returns (S6/Ep19)

It's also the first time I've seen the title for Ep. 19 listed as "Small Wonder Returns". Usually I've seen it as Small Wonder 2 or Small Wonder II.

It doesn't have to be killed it was just a question you had in regards to the airing of tonights episodes

From the couple of minutes I looked in, this was 100% accurate. So at least there was some weird scheduling, just not in the way I meant it:(

Just an ironic Antenna TV version of "Bait And Switch"!

Now to check my original airings archive to see if both of the episodes in question aired on the same night or were part of a 1 hour episode. I don't remember those two episodes being related at all but I am probably wrong since it has been awhile.

I just saw the air date for the episodes. I think they may have been back to back but they could not have been related because the storylines were different unless two stories were written for 1 episode.

I believe that It's In the Cards was produced for season 6, but was held back and shown at the very end of season 7. Antenna TV may be rerunning the episodes in production rather than original broadcast order.

There was an actor's strike in 1980, so the fall 80-81 season started late, and then there was a writer's strike in 81 so the fall 81-82 season started late, so a few eps from late in season 6 were held back for the following year. The same was true for the 81-82 season. The way to know for certain is to wait and see if Antenna airs the eps in order.

Other eps that were shot for s6: Airport and the one where Barbara, Ann, Bob, Schneider and Grandma Romano are all held hostage in the sporting goods store. (If you look at the s7 opening credits, there are scenes from those eps as well as a closeup of Ann from Its In the Cards, which means that those eps were already taped when the s7 credits were put together). I guess since Nick isn't in these eps they decided that they would be the best ones to save for late airings.

Several other shows had carryovers from season to season during those years because of the strikes: The Jeffersons for one: The Separation, Louse's Father and I've Got a Secret were made in Spring 81 but not shown til the fall, while Appointment in 8B, Laundry is a Tough Town were taped for season 8 but held back until season 9.

Another way to tell if the eps are being shown in original production order is to wait to see how season 7 plays. According to tv.com, the one where Max coaches Alex's ball team was shot before the 2 parter Julie Shows Up.

Norman Lear's shows tend to syndicate in production order. I've seen cases where a 2 parter wasn't shot consecutively and they'll rerun part 1, then show the episode that was taped after it next even if that wasn't part 2: In the Jeffersons Florence Did it Different pt 1 is followed by Blazing Jeffersons then Florence Did it Different pt 2. On the Good Times season 2 DVD, JJ Gets Arrested pt 1 is followed by a completely unrelated episode, then by pt 2. Also, in Good Times, the finale End of the Rainbow often airs before the one where JJ dates Bookman's assistant TC (presumably that was the last one taped)

I would think that would be frustrating considering you might lose the flow of Pt. 1 if they dont show pt. 2 the following week.

Both episodes have the same ending credits so they must be related. Alex's Project ends with Ann and Nick talking about landing a big account and the next episode Caveat Emptor was all about that account. It would not be unlikely that CBS aired this as a 1 hour show.
