Most of the episodes in season 4 feature her character VICKI with her hair down. She looks too much like a human with her hair down and if she is playing a robot that takes away from it.

She was more believable with her hair it a bun because she did not appear as human.

I think she is so cute with her hair down but it does do well for the character she is playing. She looks too much like Punky Brewster in season 4.

But wasn't that the whole point for her to NOT to look like a robot and to look as human-like as possible.

In one episode Ted even went as far as adding a growth chip in Vicki so she can grow and catch up to the other kids and avoid suspicion.

I've heard the argument elsewhere online that part of the reason why critics have given Small Wonder such a bad wrap was because Vicki never really evolved as a character. Compare that to say, Data on Star Trek or Chip from Not Quite Human. Starting out the way she did, but slowly becoming more human. It didn't help that Ted never seemed to think of Vicki as anything but a robot instead of his daughter.
