When Bea Benaderet (Pearl) left to do "Petticoat Junction", was Pearl ever mentioned again on "The Beverly Hillbillies". I can't seem to recall that she was but I'm not sure.

It's been a while since I watched the show but I don't recall ever hearing about Pearl ever again either. I'm guessing Paul Henning didn't want viewers to mix up Pearl with Kate Bradley from Petticoat Junction. It's too bad Pearl's character was dropped because Bea was such a good comedic actress and it seemed like she got to have a lot more fun with Pearl's character than with Kate's more calm, motherly personality.

She was in a 1967 color episode. I remember Jed called her. It was a brief appearance.

In this S2 episode (shown on MeTV today) the Clampetts receive a shipment of crawdads from Pearl. Some associates of Mr. Drysdale mistakenly believe the Clampetts are government agents and when they hear they received a letter from Pearl, they think that means Pearl Harbor.

Yes, I just saw that episode the other day. Pearl was back home talking to Jed in California on the phone. She was in her usual hair and costume for the scene. They should have had the character appear more often for the sake of continuity.

I thought they had plenty of Pearl. I didn't like her anyway.

I remember years ago; seeing a color episode where Granny and Elly Mae were going to visit her and in one scene they showed Granny talking to Jed on the phone at Pearls house.

I remember her in the 1967 episode. It was the only color episode she was in. I do agree that it would have been nice if she could have appeared more often. I also recall that Pearl and Kate Bradley were distant cousins.

Pearl always seemed like a superfluous character to me after the pilot episode. Sitcoms in the 60's basically had 4-7 main characters, the show had a core of 6 main characters plus Mrs Drysdale, so the dance card was already full. On top of that, Pearl also meant the single worse character in any sitcom I ever saw, Jethrine, might make an appearance in the hill based episodes.
