If you were going to be executed in prison, what would your last meal be? It is a weird prison, so these choices are your only choices.

I guess I'll have some of what Sean Penn's character had in Dead Man Walking, i.e. KFC.

I also would add in some delicious sweets, like chocolate cookies from Chips Ahoy.

OMG!!! What a weird thing to vote on! But cool in a way as I like off the wall stuff sometimes. I voted the fried chicken, mashed potatoes and corn!

From this list I'd have the spaghetti & meatballs w/ garlic bread.

Spaghetti & meatballs isn't my preferred last meal but I LOVE garlic bread.

I would love to substitute the tacos for cheese enchiladas (my favorite Mexican food) and refried beans ! And some chips and salsa, and a margarita!

Or substitute the spaghetti for lasagna and garlic bread with a glass of red wine!

Cheese enchiladas are super yummy, but if you want any substitutions, you will have to clear it with the warden who may negotiate with the prison chef. :lol:

Fun thread idea. From this list, I have to go with hamburgers and fries. I'm quite picky, so the sides that went with the other meals didn't work for me, lol.

I know huh? I don't know what kind of a prison that would let there be food substitutions like that! :D And NO prison would cater to my request for margaritas and wine! :lol:

So many options...I'd go with the steak and baked potato, but I wouldn't mind having spaghetti and Lobster as well. I just think of Goodfellas, the dinner in prison scene....

This could even be asked when on your death bed as you catch your last breath.

Give me a nice Filet Mignon, Baked Potato, and Green Beans. For dessert I would have a piece of Strawberry Cheesecake. I'd also wash it down with Frozen Margarita.

I mentioned this book before on this forum, but I think this thread warrants it being mentioned again. This book is great for people interested in inmates' last meal requests.

Brian D. Price prepared over 200 final meals for condemned inmates at the Texas State Penitentiary at Huntsville. The book gives a brief history of the crimes, the final meal request, the inmates' final statements (if any) and the chef's own personal reflections.

He said that, on average, the most common request included cheeseburgers, french fries, ice cream or milkshakes, and soda/coffee.





He refused to prepare the final meal for one inmate in his history of being "Huntsville's Death Row Chef" - Leo Narvaiz, who in 1988 stabbed his ex-girlfriend and her three siblings to death. He refused because his daughter was friends w/ one of the victims. Narvaiz wound up declining a final meal request.

He said his most unusual request was "dirt". An inmate requested a patch of dirt from his burial plot for a Haitian ritual and the request could not be granted. Price offered him yogurt instead and the inmate "seemed satisfied."





The "most famous" story detailed in the book is of Karla Faye Tucker, so she has the most pages about her story and the controversy surrounding her execution.

She was also the only inmate not to eat her last meal. She requested a banana, a peach and a salad w/ ranch dressing and Price said that she apparently lost her appetite and did not touch her food. Price had many inmates refuse a special last meal, but Karla Faye Tucker was the only one who ordered one and didn't eat it.

A lot of requests for breakfast foods too!

I was thinking French toast, sausage and hash browns maybe as my last meal would be delicious! God forbid though, hoping it never gets to the point where I'm on death row at a prison and have to request a last meal ! OMG!!!!

I went with the fried chicken (no bones or skin please) and smashed spuds. I'd love a nice slice of chocolate cake or rice pudding for dessert. :happyface

Voted for fried chicken. Some other good options would have been lasagna (I'll take that over spaghetti any day), ribs, and dumplings.

I would love hotdogs cooked on a BBQ, with potato salad and baked beans!

I just had a delicious hero for dinner... from my favorite pizza parlor. It's called the Italian hero with ham, salami, pepperoni, provolone cheese, lettuce, tomato and onion with oil and vinegar on hero bread. I think I would add that to the list.
What a delicious sandwich on a hot summer day!
But I guess weather doesn't matter too much when you're in an air conditioned prison all day.

I voted pizza, salad. Pizza because it’s always good and salad because if you’re about to die it’s important to eat healthy.

with my luck, i would get sent to a weird prison!!!

having said that, ive had fried chicken which isn't that good. it's hard to mess up a burger though. i voted for that.
