Best actor or best character? Those are two different questions and I think I'd give each question a different answer. But I'm not sure which you're asking because you have "best actor" in the question, but list the names of the characters (not the actors) as the options.

I voted Barbara. She has comedic sensibilities, and as for drama, she was brilliant on her phone call with Melanie in "Barbara's Friend".

I voted for Barb/Val... And I'd say overall it's a toss up among Babs, Julie, and Ann. No offense to the others, I just don't know if they were offered the acting chop episodes as our three main heroines were.

But yeah, Francine/Shelley should be a choice. She made an intentionally unlikeable character likable.

I hadn't even noticed the date. So, post Max/Michael knowledge, whom would you vote for? Not that Mac isn't a good choice; she did capture the feelings of a disenfranchised teen.
