I was wondering what shows had an episode where it said "To Be Continued" and we had to wait for either next week or next season to find out who did what...or something like that?

Star Trek: Voyager was one (that one was between seasons, albeit only seasons 2, 3, 5 and 6 had this), and so was original-recipe Dallas (especially in the time of the shooting of J.R. Ewing at the end of the third season). zypherix 06-03-2015, 04:34 PM There are probably more, but ALF and Cybill comes to mind.. both shows ended their last season with a cliffhanger. While ALF had that awful TV movie, the Cybill cliffhanger was never resolved. My Name Is Earl ended with a cliffhanger but I'm not sure whether they had the onscreen disclaimer. Mace Dolex 06-03-2015, 06:29 PM The 8th season of Three's Compnay ended with "To be Continued....Next Fall" but I've seen subsequest rerun syndicated airings in which "Next Fall" is omitted. DJM77 06-03-2015, 08:32 PM I don't remember if it said "To Be Continued" but Dallas and The Simpsons both had season finale cliffhangers when J.R. (Dallas) and Mr. Burns (The Simpsons) were shot. treky 06-04-2015, 02:39 AM STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION and MASH (one that I can think of with MASH is those stupid episodes "Snap Judgment" & "Snappier Judgment") Coffeecup 06-04-2015, 11:28 AM Two shows come to mind, both from the 1960's. Batman and Lost in Space. . Then there is any 2 part episode of a show. I could come up with more if I think. UMFaninMD 06-05-2015, 06:33 PM Once Upon a Time has always ended on a cliffhanger on their season finales and we have to wait until fall to see what happens. They don't say "To Be Continued.." though. Doctor Who sometimes does it in their season finales. For their episode "The Name of the Doctor" they had "To Be Continued Next Fall." irehtman 06-08-2015, 07:29 AM Popular, Maybe It's Me and Do Over had the worst cliffhangers in TV history and removing them from air officially cause more fights between fans, viewers and critics continuously! installLSC 06-08-2015, 10:50 AM Benson is one of the more notable sitcom cliffhangers: in the seventh season Benson was running against incumbent Governor Gatling, and the season finale ends just before the election results are announced. They didn't anticipate the series being cancelled! (I have read the writers had decided season eight would open with the Governor being re-elected.) |
