View Full Version : Why did Forensic Files tone down the use of crime scene photos/videos over the years?

Forensic Files, in its early seasons, used to show actual crime scene photographs. At times these were graphic, but I respected the fact that they held nothing back. It gave the viewer a better understanding of what actually occurred. I remember one old episode where they showed the actual crime scene video of a body being dug up from underneath a house's cement floor. It was pretty surreal. As years went on, they cut down on the use of such content. I've always wondered if this was the result of viewer complaints, complaints from the families of the victim(s), or just the choice of the network(s). I'm assuming that things changed once FF left TLC and moved to CourtTV.

I watch forensic files every night on hln. I liked how they used the real crime scene photos . I did notice in the later years they stopped most of the real photos.
It is also nice to see a crossover from another show. A different display of information about a case.
