Just came back from Washington DC, this last weekend. Many years ago, my wife had the opportunity to go to the Smithsonian and took a picture of Fonzie's jacket. I wanted to post that image for you, but can't locate it. When we went, they still had the Archie Bunker chair (with Edith Bunker's chair), BUT FONZIE'S JACKET WAS NOT ON DISPLAY!!!! WHAT!?!?!? Here's some Internet Smithsonian's for you...
From the Museum of American History and Sara's visit to DC in Summer, 2004
On December 8, 2010, Henry Winkler ("The Fonz") paid the museum a visit. He is pictured in this snapshot along with Fonzie's jacket and the Museum's entertainment curator Dwight Blocker Bowers.
The jacket is on view in the "National Treasures of Popular Culture" exhibition.

Last week my Wife and I took a trip to Washington D.C. I was super excited to go to the Smithsonian museum to finally see the Fonz's famous leather jacket. Anyone who knows me knows that Happy Days is my religion. We went to the pop culture section in the museum and looked everywhere for the jacket. Lots of cool things but no jacket. So, we went to the information booth and asked "where is the Fonz's jacket?". The lady at the desk got this very sad look on her face. She informed me that it had been switched out with Farrah Fawcett's bathing suit.

The swim suit wasn't on display either. See how important that was to replace Fonzie's jacket?
Sorry, but I am e-mailing the Smithsonian:
This last weekend, I went to the Smithsonian for the first time. What a huge opportunity. Love your museums, but I just wanted to let you know, I was so disappointed that Fonzie's leather jacket was no longer on display. That was the one thing I was really looking forward to.
Is it in storage?
Is there any chance it will be displayed again?
Many thanks,
Pat Councilor
This is what we found this last weekend.
No, that jacket isn't of interest, is it?

I'd always thought Fonzie's jacket was a permanent fixture at the Smithsonian. Looks like they took it down because not many people remember Happy Days anymore.

And the funny thing was when I asked where the "Archie Bunker chair and Fonzie's jacket" was each employee of the Smithsonian told me how to get where I wanted to go. They never mentioned that the jacket was gone.
