25 years ago this fall

Family Matters was back for a 2nd consecutive season and with a new season add some new characters:

Shawn Harrison as Urkel & Eddie's Best Friend Waldo Geraldo Faldo, Cherie Johnson of Punky Brewster Fame as Laura's Best Friend Maxine, TV Veteran Barry Jenner of Dallas Fame and Game Shows Pyramid and Super Password as Carl Winslow's Head Superior Lt. Murtaugh and Jaleel White was added to the cast as Steven Q. Urkel

and also, during the 2nd Season of FM, Leroy's was burned down thanks to Urkel, but thankfully, the place became known as Rachel's Place owned by Rachel Crawford played by Telma Hopkins and the Winslow House was also remade, too

and soon, Season 2 of Family Matters reached its peak when it finally broke the Nielsen Ratings Top 20 when the show peaked @ #15 and it would be the only season to ever crack the Top 20

Full House and Family Matters both cracked the Nielsen Ratings Top 20 w/Full House hitting #14 and Family Matters hitting #15 and it would also be the last time that Full House and Family Matters ran back to back on TGIF and it would be the last season for Full House to air on TGIF and both openings to the shows changed

Family Matters would also stay in the Nielsen Ratings Top 30 for 3 consecutive seasons until May 1993

I watched Family Matters thru out its' entire run. Loved it.

Well you know something? People can say what they want to about Steve Urkel, but Miller-Boyett adding Urkel to the cast as a regular was the right decision and as a result, the show has been in the Top 30 for 3 consecutive seasons which includes cracking the Nielsen Ratings Top 20 and Season 2 still remains their highest rated season EVER

However, the 93/94 Season, that's when it started to slowly fade like writing off Judy Winslow played by Jaimee Foxworth and focusing more on the feud between Steve Urkel and Carl Winslow made it worse as well and plus, Aunt Rachel and Little Richie even got wrote off the show, but made appearances from time to time and then, after Urkel, Laura and Waldo graduated High School, Waldo left the show and adding 3J to the mix didn't even help wonders either, but then, when the show moved to CBS, that's when the ratings took a HUGE Fall and JoMarie Payton leaving the show half-way through the season and replacing her with Judyann Elder as the new Harriett Winslow was the last straw

JoMarie Payton's Harriett had a STRONG Heart and was very outspoken, but Judyann Elder's Harriett didn't have any of that

I only watched it a few time and really liked it. Wish it was on Netflix or Hulu :D
