I just watched Beavers Football Award and once again Beaver is highly influenced by the other kids. It seems to be the story of his life....by the time he got to 7th or 8th grade he should have learned by now!

It seems to be the story of his life....by the time he got to 7th or 8th grade he should have learned by now! Yeah! I wanted to scream at him " Beaver just put the suit on already"!! mets82 05-22-2015, 05:39 PM I'm sorry but Beaver acted and sounded like a total tool by the last year. I mean it seemed he got goofy and said things that he wouldnt have said before. Bonniegirl 05-22-2015, 07:42 PM I'm sorry but Beaver acted and sounded like a total tool by the last year. I mean it seemed he got goofy and said things that he wouldnt have said before. Yeah . He was getting too old that being goofy wasn't cute anymore and he needed more common sense . And today, OMG he got into a actual fight with who he thought was the paper boy but turned out it was a paper girl. WHOA!! Wasn't one of Beaver's finer moments that was for sure! Kabuki 05-24-2015, 11:20 AM It would be satisfying that he called out his friends during the banquet of being double crossers. He does come across as a tool. The MVP of the team even gave him a smirk when he saw Beaver in his school clothes. Bonniegirl 05-24-2015, 03:24 PM Beaver was the poster boy for the "Awkward age" in the last couple of seasons! 70s show watcher 05-26-2015, 05:39 PM Yeah! I wanted to scream at him " Beaver just put the suit on already"!! :mad:I agree beaver should have had sense enough to know by then that you always dress your best for a banquet /award dinner no matter what the other guys think/say Scrabjan1 05-26-2015, 07:23 PM I always wondered why he didn't call Gilbert or Richard and ask if they were sticking with casual. Wally tells Beaver to call the coach and see what the guys were wearing and Beaver says he's the most influential player and couldn't call the coach. So call Gilbert. I also wondered why Terry would not know Ronald's name (the kid who was nervous) since he is on the team. Weird!! He had no problem wearing a suit for the ballgame (Poor Loser) or wearing a suit when the box office attraction came to dinner or for Aunt Martha in Beaver's Prep School. Bonniegirl 05-27-2015, 01:34 AM I agree beaver should have had sense enough to know by then that you always dress your best for a banquet /award dinner no matter what the other guys think/say Esp. in those days. People really got dressed up for stuff. Even to go to the movies or to travel on an airplane! Hughsgirl 05-27-2015, 08:44 AM He even caused a spat between his parents! June should have just smacked him and he would have been dressed in the suit before Ward even got home. mets82 05-27-2015, 04:16 PM I always wondered why he didn't call Gilbert or Richard and ask if they were sticking with casual. I always thought he came off like a schemer. Almost like Eddie Haskell. Scrabjan1 05-27-2015, 06:43 PM Terry was a real creep. Hate the look he gives Beaver when he shows up all suited up. Was he just giving the guys the business or did his mother smack him to get dressed up? Love the look Gilbert's father gives Beaver like he's a Leper. jehobden 06-03-2015, 06:48 PM The worst thing to me about this episode is that it seems to be a remake of "Sweatshirt Monsters", which originally appeared late in Season 5 just months before this one. Beaver makes a pact with his friends to dress out of the ordinary and his friends back out of the deal, though in that one it was because they were all caught before they could get away with their scheme. Maybe Beaver was just better at being sneaky than all his fair-weather friends. Jack1000 06-03-2015, 06:59 PM Terry was a real creep. Hate the look he gives Beaver when he shows up all suited up. Terry was a jerk, Sort of like Eddie in character. Eddie would suck-up to adults and other authority. My guess is that Terry would be arrogant to anybody, adults, and authority included. I always thought not so much Richard but Gilbert was very sneaky and a schemer. I dont think Larry Mondello would be that type of guy. I just didnt like Gilbert. |
