I've been checking around, and near as I can tell, I was the the only one crushing on her back in the day. Did anyone else think she was kind of cute?[I hope you can tell I'm saying that comically]. But if you were with me , who did you "resent" more, Eddie(real), or Mark(fictional)?

I had a HUGE crush on Valerie Bertinelli. I still have her autographed picture and a typed note that I received. Yes, she still looks amazing. Hey, anyone who has a "bikini body at 48," as she had for her People magazine cover shoot in 2007, must be doing something right!

I remember male friends of mine and my brother thought she was cute!

I had a major crush on her. She was the girl next door.

I wasn't alive to see One Day when it was on CBS, but hypothetically, I would have been more jealous of Mark (I've always liked Van Halen's Running with the Devil, so if anything, I'd have been impressed that Eddie was able to land her)

I thought you knew my friend opus, I had/have a major crush on Valerie Bertinelli, I started with episode one, I wrote her a fan letter by episode two and still have her first promo real autographed photo of her sitting in short shorts in a tree....we were the same age.......I thought Bonnie was cute (especially in season one) but Valerie was the only reason I watched every episode originally and watched her become even more adorable with each season.

I was so fortunate to then meet her and she confirmed to me that during the first season every friday night her father made her sit at the kitchen table and sign pictures, she confirmed it was her real autograph, then signed her poster for me.

I gave her copies of all my archives of her early merv griffen appearances, hollywood squares and other rare TV interviews. I even made a music video to the song "Valerie" by The Monkees.

She is the sweetest real deal, and portrayed the perfect "Girl next door/wife fantasy"

I have my 70's scrapbooks, all her magazine covers (The best the "US" cover)

As I turned to an adult, I continued to follow her career as I started my television career, hence I got to attend VIP tapings of her other failed series, have the entire short run of "Cafe Americain"........sat next to her bestie friend Faith Ford from "Murphy Brown".

Now in my 50's, I proudly can call her a semi friend, I am always very loyal to my fandom TV/music personalities, once they get me, I remain..... but to have it turn to actually her knowing me was a dream come true.

Valerie is pretty, but I've never been a fan of hers. I had to laugh when she married that hooligan Van Halen. When it happened, I knew the marriage would eventually end in divorce.

I prefer the cute looks of Bonnie Franklin. When watching One Day At A Time, Bonnie is the one who makes my motor run.

Eddie was okay. David Lee Roth was the annoying one in that group

Eddie was probably too hung over from his bachelor party to go golfing! :D

Eddie was kind of bad boy for Barbara/Val's squeaky clean image. But it's kind of cute! The good girl trying to tame the bad boy type of thing! :)

I think the whole group was annoying. I like hard rock/heavy metal, but I never cared for Van Halen. I think they were bad songwriters. To me, their stuff is loud, obnoxious, just basically awful. I never cared for Zeppelin either, aside from Stairway To Heaven, that is a classic song. But to me, their other stuff is garbage. One hard rock/metal group from the 70's that was good is Starz. They have many good songs.

I don't know, the fact she married Van Halen tells me she's just as bad as he is. Valerie the person is far different than Valerie the actress, who played the sweet, innocent, next door girl type on One Day At A Time.

Van Halen were OK! I remember when they first came out and lots of people really loved them. And I could take or leave them.;) Like if a song came on the radio by them I didn't switch it and I even sang along, but I never really bought their records! And all the girls LOVED David Lee Roth and I admit , I thought he was kind of cute.:) But thinking back or seeing old pics of him, he doesn't do a thing for me now!

But Led Zeppelin!!!! COME ON!!! They were like the best band there ever was!;) I am a really big time Zeppelin fan! I'd say Led Zeppelin and the Doors are like my two all time favorite bands! ;) I also love Lynyrd Skynyrd, ZZ Top, Eric Clapton ( Cream, Derek & the Dominoes), Three Dog Night, The Guess Who and recently I been really getting into Canned Heat (they were a really great , but underrated old band) ! And lots of other groups and singers!! ;)

But if you are not a Zeppelin fan , we still can be friends!! :) Everyone is entitled to their own opinion! ;)

I never heard of Starz, but I see they're on Spotify. I'll give them a try.

We can always be friends, but of course we won't agree about everything all the time. Different opinions is what keeps things interesting. ;) :)

Three Dog Night had a few good hits in the 70's. Shambala and The Show Must Go On are a couple good ones. Songs by the Guess Who that I like are: No Time, Hand Me Down World, Star Baby, and Clap For The Wolfman. One thing about me when it comes down to rock music bands, I generally prefer lesser known, underappreciated bands. To me, I find that most of the bands popular with the media and the masses are overrated.

No Regrets is a good Starz tune, Night Crawler is good too. My Sweet Child is a good power ballad. Johnny All Alone is a good bluesy tune with great melodic guitar work. Check those out.
