I've had more than my share of girlfriends and at one point or another they would ask me for money and get outrageously angry if I didn't give it to them.

If Ed needed more money than he should have sold that big house and let go of the maid and lived with in his means instead of asking his ex-wife to give up the child support that is selfish. Also, tell the current wife to get a job !

I agree. There's no reason he has to have a fancy car, a fancy house or even a maid.

Exactly! Tough luck, dad! That 70 dollars a month is important!!! Find another way!

Precisely . He apparently had a lot of money. He just wasn't allocating it to the right places. Since he doesn't show up again till Barbara's wedding, I'll assume he got his head on straight.

But it did make for good TV. This was good story telling here. Ed must have lost his mind having the audacity to do what he did. Side note: I enjoy Julie on this episode.

Yes!!! A middle aged man being P whipped by his new younger wife, and acting a fool, even jeopardizing his relationship with his daughters!:( But I think him getting drunk, he was feeling guilty about what he was doing , because it led you to believe that he wasn't really a drinking man, and that is why he handled the drinking so badly, he wasn't used to that much alcohol! ! So it showed a bad side and a good side if that makes any sense! The drinking was out of guilt! :(
And yes, Julie was good in this ep.! :) I also liked her in the two parter the other night when she moved out into the apartment with that airheaded gold digger girl!:) Mack was a good actress! ;)
