1. Both Ed and Ann spanked Julie and Barbara as kids. This is made clear.
2. Ann slapped the fire out of Julie for mouthing off.
3. Schneider got Harvey in a headlock and choked him a little. Before that, he tried to punch him.
4. Ann slapped Alex for breaking that vase.
5. Ann paddled Alex with a cutting board for skipping school.
6. Schneider grabbed Alex by the neck for starting the fire.
For a woman who was supposed to represent the modern woman, Ann had a lot of old-fashioned ideas on child-raising. Something tells me that she never used time-out, LOL. She fully supported Ed spanking the girls. Ann was no Edith Bunker, who once stopped Archie from spanking their niece. On the contrary, I picture Ann sending the girls to their rooms if they did something really bad and then telling Ed as soon as he got home that they needed a spanking. LOL
I loved the fact that Ann was old-fashioned. It made the show so real and not your typical sitcom fluff. Ann was totally like a real parent!!
