JamesG 05-06-2015, 09:42 PM Fox Cancels "The Mindy Project" -- but There's Hope at Hulu

Fox is breaking up with "The Mindy Project".
The network has decided to cancel Mindy Kaling’s romantic comedy, EW has learned. The show, which boasts a cult audience but has been dogged by low ratings, wrapped its third season in March.
There may be second life for "Mindy", though. And it could be big news for fans. The show’s producers are in serious talks with Hulu for multiple additional seasons.
Hulu is a logical suitor, as it already has the streaming rights to all of the show’s episodes.

News/ Pssst, Hulu! Here's Why Saving The Mindy Project Would Be the Smartest Thing Ever (http://www.eonline.com/news/653983/save-the-mindy-project-11-reasons-why-another-network-needs-to-pick-it-up-asap?cmpid=sn-000000-twitterfeed-365-top_stories&utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=twitterfeed_celebrities_top_stories)

Mindy could reinvent itself and become even raunchier online.
MrCleveland 05-07-2015, 04:58 PM That's what's cool about Netflix and Hulu...if a show that has no syndication and is still popular...the show can have new breath on Netflix or Hulu.

Mindy Kaling's Fox comedy has already reached its end after three seasons. A fourth season is unnecessary, says Pilot Viruet. "Where else does the show have to go?" Viruet asks. "Chronicling Mindy's pregnancy, continuing to showcase Danny's hesitance, glancing at a revolving cast in a barely-there office setting, and following the ups and downs and of Mindy/Danny raising a child doesn't exactly seem worth it."
irehtman 05-08-2015, 06:26 AM What about Danny meeting Mindy's real parents?

Kaling yesterday texted InStyle's editorial director (http://www.instyle.com/news/mindy-speaks-instyles-june-cover-star-breaks-silence-about-her-shows-future), saying "I love seeing #themindyproject trending!" and adding: "I can just say that I don't think it's over for these characters."

They should announce the acceptance by Hulu sometime today.
Some of the past characters may not yet be axed, but the only character that is not coming back is that Dr. Marc Shulman character, IMO.
JamesG 05-15-2015, 12:56 PM "The Mindy Project" Renewed for Super-Sized Season 4 at Hulu after Fox Cancellation
by Michael Ausiello
May 15, 2015
Lahiri-lujah! As expected, Hulu has salvaged "The Mindy Project" from Fox’s scrap heap, ordering a super-sized, 26-episode fourth season of the acclaimed comedy.
“I am thrilled The Mindy Project has found a new home on Hulu, where so many of our fans are already watching the show,” said Kaling in a statement. “It’s such an exciting place to be.”
Fox cancelled the Mindy Kaling-fronted sitcom after three seasons on May 6. By then, Universal TV — which owns "The Mindy Project" and saw the writing on the wall at Fox — had already begun talks with Hulu about a pickup.
Hulu is currently the exclusive streaming home to all past episodes of the series. A premiere date for Season 4 is TBD.

That's good news, I actually liked The Mindy Project better than New Girl.

Mindy Kaling wants her comedy to still be restrained, even though it's no longer hampered by network standards. But she adds: "I think we are gonna push the envelope in ways we haven't been able to, which is great."
irehtman 06-25-2015, 09:55 PM Well right now, FOX has already shutdown its entire teen entertainment marketing recently and this show was accidentally included as part of the FOX teen entertainment marketing as you should know about it by now.

In fact, she appears to be more into her job than ever before. "I honestly think that if you had the job I had, then you wouldn't want to take a break," she says. "I literally have my own show on television! On the weekend, I can't wait for it to be Monday. People ask me when do I sleep, but when you're living your dream, why would you want to sleep?"

Oh yes..., I understand now. Maybe Kevin O'Reilly wasn't that bad a person at all.
Well it looks like Kevin was the one who got fired from FOX for creating the FOX teen entertainment marketing system in a bad technique and carelessly included this show in it with hurried timing.
But we all know that FOX teen entertainment marketing system has these shows until its shutdown on May 2015:
* American Idol
* So You Think You Can Dance
* Glee
* New Girl
* The Mindy Project
* (Not too much of) Brooklyn Nine-Nine
All these shows had their own forced changes in the meantime, but I agree this show belongs to Hulu, ever since the death of Glee actor Cory Montieth.
