In all the hype for Grace Under Fire, it's like everyone forgot about this set. This show is so nostalgic for me so I'm happy for it's release.

^I also have fond memories of the show. I remember when it first aired on TGIF. I like the first two seasons more (the ABC episodes) but all of them are great.

I definitely want to get this and Grace Under Fire but there's just one small wrench that's been thrown into this...according to tvshowsondvd.com, the Sister Sister set appears to be Canada only!! Is that right!? That can't be right, they released Grace Under Fire in the US too! Even worse it's only showing up on Amazon Canada! Not even listed on Amazon US. Grace Under Fire is finally down to a price I can live with paying for it so I'd like to get both sets at the same time. Worst case I can try ordering Sister Sister from Amazon Canada and have them ship it here but I really hope I won't need to do that ugh! I don't know anyone in Canada who I could get it shipped to that can ship it to me either :(

I just got a much needed new portable DVD player for Christmas too, monster 13.5 inch screen good God is that screen huge! Even better it's both NTSC and PAL disc compatible, so I can run any disc from the US, Canada, Europe, and Australia pretty much ;). Region isn't the problem now, it's trying to find out if this is getting a US release or not. It's so damn confusing finding a straight answer! Please VEI, don't make it so I have to order from Amazon Canada just to get this show!

Just registered to discuss this cool news. Great that this is coming out. The later seasons weren't that great, but a complete set is always the best.

I hope episodes will be uncensored e.g. Lisa's day-dream of the twins smoking that was always cut in the re-runs. That was funny.

I have it pre ordered on Amazon US, did that last month when I saw it in there! But, even though it's set to be out here tomorrow, for the shipping my order is saying they'll have to let me know exactly when once they get a better shipping estimate :eek: I've never seen that before with any pre order from Amazon. Ever. Well this should be interesting. It's either going to ship tomorrow or it isn't. If it doesn't I'll try to get it from VEI instead. I hope they ship it, it's just easier this way and more convenient for me. I thought I'd note that here for anyone else that pre ordered from Amazon US too..it definitely made my eyes go wide for a second. I'll check again later tonight to see if that's changed at all.

Edit: Got an email from Amazon early this morning saying it's been kinda delayed and they still can't give me an estimated delivery date :eek: I honestly don't know what to say to that. Unbelievable. I'll give them till Monday to sport this out and if I still don't have a firm expected delivery date I'll order it from VEI themselves because I have a nasty feeling it's gonna get very hard to find very fast. Thought I'd update the post....I got an update all right just not what I expected to see. I couldn't be the only one that ordered it on Amazon US could I? If I am then holy crap is about all I can say for it. I did get Grace Under Fire last month though! Just wish this one would be shipped as incident free as that one was!

Thanks for the update! So I'll get it next month then. March is a better month money wise for it for me anyway. I'll check my order again in a minute and see if they changed the date on it yet. Might have to end up re ordering it if my original order is still saying no date.

Edit: I re pre-ordered just now so I'm locked in for the March 18th date. The estimated delivery date still says not yet available but at least I'll have it in March now.

Got good news for ya, got an email this morning saying I should have it on Tuesday or Wednesday! I chose 1 day shipping so they'll probably ship it on Sunday or Monday. It does appear it finally made the third release date set for it so it won't be delayed anymore. Now watch me get the box, all the cases and all 17 discs with nothing on any of the discs :lol:

I just wanted to update people in this thread too it appears to have finally made a release date and should arrive this coming week for those of us that ordered it from Amazon!

I saw that someone posted a couple pics of the set on amazon and it's not even in 6 individual cases, it's only 2. Who knows at this point what this set holds!?

Well, it's past April 12 now. This set is crazy! Two sets instead of six? Sounds like something CBS/Paramount usually does with their complete series releases!

Can anyone who has the set post a mini review about? Are episodes uncut? What is the audio and picture quality like? Thank you all.

I have now watched all of season one and I am watching it in production order as the episode that introduced Little Ray aired after an episode that he starred in. Picture quality for season one is quite decent for a show recorded on video tape.

I had a quick look at disk one of season two last night and the quality of that is poor. Looks like there is a ghosting issue on all episodes on that disk. It is like watching something not tunned in properly and when I checked a random episode of disk three of season three, that appeared fine.

Although the above episode suffered from the ghosting effect the previous episode on the disk, B01 Hair Today did not. Also, the CBS logo at the end of B02 - Get A Job - was pin sharp in contrast to the ghosting of the episode itself.

I have now watched the first two seasons. A couple of observations; the comedy is often slightly forced. It is more Married...with Children than The Cosby Show. Also, considering the show was about two teenage girls there was quite a lot of sexual references.

Two questions - the exteriour of the house the girls lived in, were those establishing shots filmed especially for the show or lifted from a feature film or something? Same goes for the school as some of the establishing shots look very detailed.
