"Homeland" Season 5 Will Shoot in Germany, Showtime Confirms
by Denise Petski
April 27, 2015
"Homeland" EP Alex Gansa said at PaleyFest last month that the Showtime drama was heading to Europe and would “probably” shoot in Germany, and now the pay cabler and Fox 21 TV Studios have made it official.
Season 5 will begin production in early June at Studio Babelsberg in Berlin, becoming the first American TV series to shoot a full season entirely in Germany, according to Showtime.
"Homeland’s" 12-episode season will premiere this fall.
Season five will pick-up two years after Carrie Mathison’s (Claire Danes) ill-fated tenure as Islamabad station chief.
Struggling to reconcile her guilt and disillusionment with years of working on the front lines in the “war on terror,” Carrie finds herself in a self-imposed exile in Berlin, estranged from the CIA and working for a private security firm.
