Does anyone know if Earnest Thomas ever guest starred on The Jeffersons? It was the episode where George's van for the cleaning store gets ripped off by a gang and the leader of the gang is a guy named "Train" (Earnest Thomas)? This episode was on about two nights ago, but I'm not sure it was Earnest because I had already taken my contact lenses out, so I don't see so well without them. But the voice sounded just like Earnest, so I'm actually very sure it was him... just by going on voice cuz I couldn't see him at all. Everyone was a blur by that time.

I saw that ep. Wow ! I guess it was him. I just googled and indeed Ernest Thomas guest starred in that ep. I had no idea that was him! He played such a different role. So much different than nerdy Raj with the big glasses! Before I read your post I would have never even thought that "Train" and Raj were the same person!

LOL! I couldn't see much, but from what I HEARD, "Train" sounded very smooth and street wise, so not like Roger! Yes, Roger was a nerd! "Train" seemed to be very slick and whatnot.

That's actually before What's Happening? I'm pretty sure What's Happening started in 1977. Maybe I'm wrong.

He was a good actor, because "Roger" was NOTHING like "Train." He had a lot of diversity going on in his acting repertoire!

Yes he did and I so pissed I fell asleep on Monday night and missed it. lol

I only seen up to the part when Benson was talking to George about speaking in a basement in the ghetto about his business

Raj came to the Jeffersons apt to apologize for what his gang did since he was the gang leader

I had my contact lenses out, so I really couldn't see much. I could only hear. But my friend told me that Earnest had a beard in this episode? Did he look very different from "Roger"?

WOW!!! Now that I can actually see him, I can say that he looks TOTALLY different from "Roger." He actually looks older than Raj in this Jeffersons episode.
The only reason I recognized him before is because of his voice.

He also didn't look so ridiculously skinny the way Raj did.

Yeah he didn't look as skinny on the Jeffersons. I'd like to see that ep again now that I know that actor was Ernest! ;) Thinking back I'm seeing how yes indeed if you really looked he did look like Ernest, but we always picture him with his big Raj glasses on, that's what really made him look so different! ;)

That's probably why I didn't recognize him until I heard his voice. He sure didn't look like "Roger." You can change the way you look, but you can never change your voice!

Which character did you like better? "Train" or "Roger"?
I liked "Roger" because he was different, nerdy, sweet and respectful. He was also very funny.
"Train" was a good character too. He was very smooth and street wise, but I've seen that all before.
I preferred "Roger."

Well put! ;) I agree ! :)

And his big glasses were kind of cute. Raj was before his time, the nerdy look is in style now more than in the 70's. I think the young guys wearing the "Clark Kent" glasses that you see in the last couple of years is a cute look! :)
