"Lip Sync Battle" Renewed for Season 2

"Lip Sync Battle" is going for Round 2: Spike TV has renewed its star-studded competition series for a 20-episode second season, it was announced Wednesday.

Adapted from Jimmy Fallon’s recurring "Tonight Show" game, "Lip Sync Battle" pits A-list celebrities against each other as they mouth the lyrics to famous songs. Its April 2 series premiere drew 2.2 million total viewers, giving Spike its largest audience ever for an unscripted series debut.



“Lip Sync Battle is a television and viral rock star for Spike,” network president Kevin Kay said in a statement. “We are thrilled to be renewing Lip Sync Battle whose success is a direct result of the brilliance and creativity of our producers, the brave performers, and of course the coolest new duo on television, LL Cool J and Chrissy Teigen.”

Season 2 will debut in 2016.

It's kind of a fun show and I'm amazed at the big celebrities they've gotten so far that I'm worried down the line eventually all their A-list celebs will have other commitments that they're going to have to get D-celebs.

From your lips to Spike’s ears: "Lip Sync Battle" has been renewed for a 20-episode third season, the cable network announced today.

No return date has been announced for the celeb-packed, karaoke-esque competition, which will shoot Season 3 later this year.

"Lip Sync Battle" has already been renewed for a fourth season, to premiere in January 2018 on the Paramount Network (aka Spike’s new name for the new year).

Season 4 will feature 18 half-hour episodes with hosts LL Cool J and Chrissy Teigen cheering on the embattled celebrity guests.

The third season arrives Thursday, April 20 at 10/9c on Spike.

I was just reading an article recently about what a nasty bitch Chrissy Teigen can be when she feels like it. I'm so disgusted I won't ever watch the show again. I honestly don't understand what John Legend sees in her.

"Lip Sync Battle" Renewed for Season 5 at Paramount Network

On the heels of its third consecutive Emmy nomination for outstanding structured reality program, Paramount Network has picked up a fifth season of hit series "Lip Sync Battle".

The network has ordered 12 half-hour episodes for premiere in 2019.




“Lip Sync Battle continues to grow rapidly across the globe and is now seen in more than 120 countries around the world due in large part to our incredible hosts LL Cool J and Chrissy Teigen, the dream team!,” said executive producers Casey Patterson and Jay Peterson in a joint statement.

“We feel we reached new heights with the Emmy-Nominated Michael Jackson Live Episode in January and are excited to show the fans all of the big surprises we have in store for Season 5!”
