Sandra Bullock is People's World's Most Beautiful Woman

After a brief absence from our lives, Sandra Bullock has resurfaced to claim the honor of World's Most Beautiful Woman, according to People.

"I just said, 'That's ridiculous,'" Bullock, 50, told the magazine of the receiving the title. "I've told no one."





Bullock has kept her life fairly low-key since Gravity slayed at the Oscars in 2014. She didn't film another project for two years following the space drama until she voiced a super villain in Minions, which comes out later this year.

That's because Bullock has been busy focusing on raising her five-year-old son, Louis, who is still struggling to understand his mother's unusual career.

"He thought I was an astronaut for a while," Bullock said. "I want it to be so inconsequential and such a nonissue. I want him to be embarrassed by me like all other parents."





And though being named the World's Most Beautiful Woman is a wonderful commendation, Bullock said no one's compliments make her nearly as happy as the ones from her son.

"I was putting him to bed and told him that even when I'm old and gray and more wrinkly than I am now, I'll still love him and want to tuck him in," she said.

"And he asked why I have wrinkles, and I said, 'Well, I hope some of them are from laughing so much.' And he touched my face and said, 'You're not old, you're just happy.'"

I second that motion, she isn't ugly but she isn't drop dead beautiful at least not in my eyes. Many people can view her differently depending on their tastes.

I mean there's a whole slew of my favorite actresses that I find gorgeous but then we'd be here all day arguing.

Yeah she was cute back when she was coming up in Speed and Demolition Man.

I think it's awesome that they chose someone like Sandra. In an industry that's typically incredibly ageist, it's refreshing that they chose her instead of a current "it girl." We've seen enough of the over-the-top Sofia Vergara and the like, so I say way to go People!

I think most People would disagree with People. I am one of them. I like Sandra, but she is far from most beautiful IMHO

It's so nice that this message managed to go public. Makes her look even more beautiful. It's all about image folks that's all. Make everyone think you are a simple person that loved their kids, it makes you look great and creates a wonderful image.

I'm not saying that Sandra Bullock is less a person then what she appears to be on that message. I am just asking the question. Was that message more for real? Or was it to boost her image?

I agree. She has always come off as very humble and genuine. They had probably asked her a question regarding being chosen most beautiful at age 50, and she pretty much explained that beauty is ageless.

Most definitely. It helped that she was already likable and comes off as approachable, down-to-earth and not always putting her personal life out there for everyone to see. She dodged a bullet and came out better for it, personally and professionally.

I like how some people defending Jesse James say Ben Franklin cheated on a lot of his wife, too.

Sandra Bullock is cute but she isn't the most beautiful woman. I would put Jessica Biel, Jessica Alba, Ashley Scott, Elisha Cuthbert, Olivia Wilde, Charlize Theron, Margot Robbie over her. Any one of them should've been on the cover of People magazine.

Sandra is actually the oldest person to be named "most beautiful woman in the world" by PEOPLE. The 2nd oldest goes to Michelle Pfeiffer who was 41 when she made it for the 6th time back in 1999.

I was curious about this so I looked into it...

These magazine lists are subjective anyway as it's nearly impossible to find "the most beautiful woman in the world". Whose standards are they based on and why do they only include celebrities? lol
