I consider myself somewhat of a classic TV know-it-all but believe it or not I'd never seen a single episode of "M3S"....until last night. I watched the first 2 episodes of the series.

I've owned both season 1 volumes for a couple years now but I've never sit down to watch any of them. I decided to pop a disc in last night and I was delighted. The comedy is fresh and the acting is very professional. I can't wait to watch more!

Another plus for me is that I'm not familiar with the original series so I don't miss any of the music edits. By the way, how bad are they anyway...is it actual songs or just background music?

And Robbie is adorable! Haha! :)

Ahh...so you've finally discovered the brilliance of the first season of My Three Sons. Yeah, all the B&W years are great but the first season was particularly brilliant. I love the "Bub" William Frawley seasons. This show really gives a glimpse of what life was like for a lot of families in the early 1960s (of course most then had Mothers too, but Bub filled that role here).

Wait till you get to the episode where they are all working against the clock. It is set in one day's time and they keep showing a clock face periodically during the show--this is a great episode.

I own season one and two on dvd and have been waiting and waiting for season three to come to dvd (hopefully in a full-season set). But apparently there are music copyright issues with season three which is why they haven't released it.

We should all petition Shout! Factory to produce season 3 to DVD!

I envy you to be just now discovering My 3 Sons. I used to watch this show when it was originally on in the '60's and it's been one of my top favorite shows ever since. To this day I still watch, right now I'm down to 3 shows a week. Even at that rate, since there were so many episodes it takes a long time before you have to start the whole series over again.

If you've never seen the first years, you won't know what you're missing of the original and excellent background music. To me even though I have them I won't watch the commercial discs, the really fine unique background music, the tender harmonica song used usually when Chip & Steve had a talk, it's just too much an integral part of the show for me to just dismiss it and pretend it doesn't matter. The music is just as important a part of this show as one of it's characters. I only watch my TV recordings of the show when I watch, now I don't get mad and annoyed not having to listen to the crappy cheap sounds coming at me from the commercial discs as I watch the first 2 seasons. Now as long as I stick with my own TV broadcast recordings I don't have an annoyed moment. I have all seasons of this show and I love every one of them. I don't understand why no TV station is running this program, but as long as there are such things as DVDs I don't care.

The bad news, of course, is that new generations won't discover this series if it isn't even being shown. Once again, I thank my maker for the invention of DVDs.;) Hopefully Me TV or COZI will bring the show back.

Just you wait until you see the color episode in which he does ballet. You'll have a CLOSE look at Don Grady, in such revealing fashion as you never would've predicted...!

Not to be outdone though, a lot of us fans just adore seeing Tina Cole in her character's "cigarette girl" outfit, when Katie goes to work to pay for a gift for Rob. WOW is putting it mildly!

Don't feel bad. I am 65 years old and grew up right with the M3S series - but would you believe I've only watched four or five episodes (BACK THEN)?

Last year I found it starting on METV and thought - hey, let me see take another look at this show.

I am addicted and am now up to Season 12. Chip and Polly are married and Polly is trying to make dinner.

Good grief, what was thinking back then. What a great series!
