Sometimes I watch this show as a sitcom when there is nothing else on and I want to watch something for 21 minutes or so. Besides, this television season in my opinion has been so bad, I find nothing else to watch a lot of times.

But back on point, I do not understand why anyone watches this show. It's one of those, "it is so bad it is good" type of things. I do like Beth Behrs as Caroline. Caroline is gorgeous, sweet, kind, gorgeous again. The show turned me on to the band Disclosure and their song "When a Fire starts to Burn" (with Beth/Caroline doing a booty shake to the song in her "new pants" which was cut way, way too short!) Kat Dannings is OK.

I also like that old Garrett Morris has a good gig in his old age. i thought he was an old, washed up guy by now, but he has worked fairly steady before this. He is pretty good in this, but the guy was doing comedy before a lot of the cast were born or were little kids (like me on SNL, "Base-a-ball has been a veddy veddy good to me!")

What I don't like is the abundance of sex jokes, everything is sex, sex, sex, sex. From the greasy, almost sex offender cook, to his annoying Polish girlfriend, just everything else. I am not a prude, but why is SEX such a big deal? It is just part of adulthood.

Have to go...............

The dialog is pretty raunchy especially airing in such a early time slot. But I still find it funny and always laugh at some their outlandish situations.

Yeah, I've sampled this in both first run and syndication, and haven't made it ten minutes into an episode. Sometimes you watch a show and don't like it, but you still can see what they're trying to do - I don't get that sense watching this.

What channel in syndication? I don't get to watch it since it comes on the same time as Monday Night Football

Have to go...............I can't stand the way Kat Dennings delivers her lines. She's got nice boobs though. I just realized she's like an attractive Roseanne.

I can't think of a worse show - and I agree that Kat Denning's delivery is awful.

At first I didnt like it, then I started watching more and find some jokes funny but after awhile the sex and penis jokes just get tiring and repetitive, now it seems to be on autopilot and leading nowhere.

Ah, Jennifer Coolidge...
The supporting cast on the show definitely have more talent than its stars, but then again that is often the case on sitcoms.

Sophie Kaczinsky is the character Jennifer Coolidge portrays on 2 Broke Girls.

Almost every time Sophie enters the diner, there would be screaming and applause from the studio audience. With that kind of audience reaction, she'd be like Fonzie from Happy Days or Steve Urkel from Family Matters. I don't even remember the last time a sitcom's studio audience cheered and applauded every time one of its characters showed up.

Sophie: Hey everybody!

Studio Audience: WHOOOOO!!!! (applause)

It's not exactly a classic show but it's fun.

It is light-weight fun, sitcom equivalent of cotton candy. I like the actors and most of the characters. It is so formulaic that it is almost comforting. There is really no plot to speak of so you just kind of go with it.

Most episodes are OK, there are some stinkers, and no real classic episodes at all to me.

I think the cheering for Sophie is some in-joke. I notice most of the time Garrett Morris is laughing at her entrances.

It is just a very average show that I find entertaining enough to watch for 21 minutes when I am in the wind-down mood.

I don't think MP King and Whitney Cummings ever had any idea of a plot and after the syndication deal was done so early on they just went on auto-pilot to make the money.

Unfortunately the rest of the TV audience hasn't as it's been renewed for season 6.

I was watching tonight, 3-13-17. Am I crazy or outside of Caroline and Earl, have they all put on a lot of weight? Probably an uncalled for question on my part and I know it's something Kat has battled throughout but I'm watching tonight and I see not just Kat, but when Sophie and Oleg came into the first scene I was like "what the hell?" They've both packed on weight. I think even Han has, he's a tad smaller dude so it's not as easy to spot, but it looks like they're all eating OK (six seasons now will allow for that) :D

If I have a problem with the show it's probably just the real life things that would never allow things on this show to happen. Example: no one in the diner wears a hair net. An absolute must around food. You ever see Oleg's shirts when he's back in the kitchen cooking? Geez, there's no armpit cover and his hair sticks out.
The earlier episodes allowed Max and Caroline to sell home made cupcakes IN THE DINER after being brought from their home, made in their kitchen where there was often a HORSE present. Yeah, I see no problems for them via the board of health on this matter. Yeah Han, just let the girls who don't wear hair nets and are too poor to buy TOILET PAPER continue to do this. Let's see which customers actually DIE in your restaurant.

I know TV shows aren't real life and that's mostly true for comedies so I have to reel it in a bit on expectations for shows, but damn that Williamsburg Diner would have been shut down years ago. And I won't even get started on the reused sex jokes and Han's height jokes.

The writers have put very little work into this show. Nothing ever changes except for the occasional story arc that just kind of fizzles out. If I recall correctly in or around season 1 TBS offered $1.7 million per episode for reruns. I'm sure that helps account for the longevity of the show at least in part and possibly accounts for the often lazy writing.

Someone told me to watch it saying it was the modern day Laverne & Shirley. I didn't get it.
