In the ep that Barbara was pretending to be a " Hotsy Totsy" . Not the guy (Hank Basso) she liked who liked Julie more , I mean the two other boys in the restaurant that she was flirting with. The actors were Christopher Knight ( Peter from the Brady Bunch) and Jean Stapleton's ( Edith) son John Putch. John was in several ODAAT eps playing a character named Bob. I didn't know at the time that he was Jean Stapleton's son! :)

Yeah. Chris Knight turned up on CHIPS the other day, ep from 1978! Glad he was getting some work after the Brady Bunch! ;)

I didn't know that was Jean's son. I used to watch Bob on the show but never knew that that was his mother. Norman Lear kept it all "in the family". ;)

Just in time for tax deadline time!

I guess nepotism and natural charm really helped John Putch get a good little recurring role on this show. His platonic chemistry with VB was there from the very start. That was a sweet little smile they shared.:)

I just noticed Hank (Michael Goodrow) was in the same episode of Apples Way as Valerie in 1974, so I guess they knew each other. His big credit is 15 episodes of Eight is Enough.

^She and Bob were really cute together. I also wish Cliff had stayed on longer. I mean, come on, Barbara should have married Cliff, not Mark. Am I right? Don't get me wrong, I did like Mark, but Cliff and Barbara or Bob and Barbara would have made a better married couple.

Maybe the writers thought Mark would make better husband material for Barbara, more mature! ;)

Did you know her and Cliff ( Scott Colomby) really dated in real life ? They were pretty serious even I think! ;)

^ Not a surprise, Colomby seems like the bad boy/Eddie Van Halen type that VB would fall for. The actors in the show who played Bob and Mark, played clean cut, decent type guys, not the type VB would go for in real life.

True, although there is that 4th season two parter where Barbara and Julie fight over Doug, the rock band guy. So maybe those episodes were the start of Val's interest in rock stars.

As a 16 yr. old, she did date a 27 yr. old Paul Shaffer because he looked like Elton John.

That hack? Yes, in her book, Paul gets a paragraph, Steven gets 5 pages.
