I guess it was about six months ago that Channel 11 in New York started airing syndicated episodes of "Gimme a Break!" on weekday mornings. I believe that, when they first started, we would get one episode per weekday at four in the morning. Then, about three months ago, it changed to one episode at three in the morning. This went on until the beginning of this week. Now I see that "Family Guy" is on in that time slot! I wonder if there are still any stations anywhere in the United States that still syndicate "Gimme a Break!".

I can understand that. Channel 11 is a local syndication channel in New York City. If you live in a different region, you probably would not have heard about it. It is my understanding that, ever since the eighties, any of the networks anywhere in the United States that aired this series were few and far between.

My DirecTV is having a free preview and this channel happened to be one that I just happen to catch a couple of episodes and it's just as I remember it,...........TRULY TERRIBLE!
It's a little like The Facts Of Life in that the show mostly features teenage girls and little 8 years old boys find girls icky.

The 8-year-old boy that you are thinking of is probably Joey. He was introduced in the third season and he was 6 going on 7 at the time. Do you know what season the episodes that you saw were from?
