Michael Uppendahl talks about juggling all the guest actresses from last night's episode. PLUS: There's something "Sideways Universe" about Don and Diane. (http://time.com/3819309/mad-men-don-draper-diana-mother/)
Wouldn't most people prefer to see the regular cast especially when there are only a few episodes left? I know I would. There was too much focus on Megan's relatives for my taste.

Ever since Megan entered the picture, the show has become less and less interesting. I realize it was time for a change and move Don into a different direction, but that Meagan chick just drove me nuts. I knew she was going to screw him.

Regarding this topic, it is possible for a main cast member to be absent for a few episodes of a TV series's season and a recurring character to appear in a majority of (or maybe all?) of that season's episodes.
I suppose it is these female characters who director Michael Uppendahl describes as "wonderful", and even though people keep asking for it, there is not much screen time for those female characters because there are so few episodes of Mad Men remaining.
