I can barely but food for the weekend just for me with $23 so you know this was 40 years ago.
$23.00 was like $100 back in 1975.
And then submissive A$$ David brings Ann $104.00 worth of groceries which was like $453 in 2015. lol

About the mid-1970s or so, I remember you could get gas for your car at around 54 cents per gallon...! Most comic books had a cover price of 25 cents.
I think too that even then, U.S. midwest living overall was cheaper than the east coast or west coast.

I remember being a little girl and going to the Supermarket with my Mom,60's/early 70's. We got LOTS of stuff , several bags worth. I remember her handing the cashier a 20 dollar bill and getting change back! ;)
( Note I said Supermarket, LOL you don't hear a grocery store called a Supermarket too much anymore huh?) LOL:D

Old stuff. I can tell someone has never seen this show before. You are bringing up stuff that most people already know.

A lot of people on this site probably haven't seen ODAAT before because it hasn't been in syndication in years.

Just because Sol is commenting on how cheap groceries were back in the '70s does not mean he never watched One Day At A Time.
