I just watched this show for the first time, and the episode I watched called "Sender: Unknown" was quite horrifying.

It concerned the murder of 12 year old Justin Bloxom from Louisiana in 2010. He was sleeping over at a friend's house when he got text messages from someone identifying themselves as "Amber" wanting to hook up that night. "Amber" stated she would drive over to where he was staying, but later texted back that she couldn't find the house and was sending a taxi to come get him. Justin got in the taxi, driven by 30 year old Brian Horn, not thinking anything of it. Brian was a repeat sex offender. Justin's body was found later in the day. Didn't say, but I imagine Horn intended to sexually assault Bloxom.

Horn was given the death penalty and the state of Louisiana, as well as Texas and Oklahoma, passed laws that prevent sex offenders from driving taxis, limousines and the like.

The scariest part was at the end where it was revealed Justin's last text to "Amber" was "The car just died.", and he must have realized it went to Horn's phone. Creepy beyond words.

I felt really bad for his mom, you could tell she was just devastated. He also had 3 brothers I think. Very sad case.

This is one of the better shows on ID right now in Canada, I wish they'd show the new episodes!

They hit home for me because I was a lonely teenager and had a lot of online friends back in the 90's. Some were normal... some weren't.

This is one of my new favorite shows on ID. I've seen all the episodes to date. It definitely opens your eyes up to the dangers of talking and meeting up with people you don't know. One of the more creepier ones was about a man who almost got killed by a bomb that was actually meant for his teenage son. The young man had began an online relationship with a girl and after the murder attempt, he started being terrorized by the bomber. Turns out the bomber was a pedophile who wanted him dead so he could hookup with his girlfriend. I can't even begin to imagine the mindset of some of these people.

Good show. I thought they were running out of material when one episode was split into halves, with each one spotlighting a different case nearly a decade apart and unrelated.

But that was a brief wobble. Many interesting ones subsequently. I thought the recent one with Robert and Grace was perhaps the most bizarre of all. Grace was actually the young pretty girl with a rich family, as she claimed online. Virtually previous episode dealt with someone misrepresenting themselves. But in this case Grace lied about her parents abusing her, and somehow convinced her long distance boyfriend to murder them. The father actually saved his own life by resisting Robert's knife just long enough to tell Robert that Grace was lying to him about the abuse. Grace was standing right there in the doorway and admitted to Robert that she made it up. At that point Robert reversed to trying to save the life of the guy he had been attacking seconds earlier. Fortunately he was successful.

The Justin Bloxom case is one of the most heartbreaking ones I've seen on this show. His poor mother. There were so many creepy things about that one. I agree, that last text where he must have heard Horn's phone ring must have been terrifying. And then the cop that had driven by Horn as he sat in the taxi gripping the wheel and rocking back and forth.

That and the girl (I can't remember her name now) who had lost her mother in a car accident, her dad was a cop, she met who she thought was a teen online, of course he wasn't and he ended up coming and kidnapping her and killing her. So heartbreaking. I felt so horrible for her dad, losing his wife, then losing her.

The one with Robert and Grace was a weird one too. And the bomb one, the poor dad who lost his leg. The actress who played the mom in that has been in at least 2 other shows on ID, most recently an episode of Nowhere to Hide, where the investigator had to find a guy who had faked his death in Mexico. Deadly Women does that too, there are at least 2 actresses on there that have played different women in at least 3 different episodes. I guess I watch too many of these shows that I recognize the reenactment actors multiple times over.

Anyway, back to Web of Lies, did anyone see that video a guy made where he posed as a teen online to see if he could get kids to meet him? He had the parents involved and when he got them to meet him their parents were with him hiding. Most of the parents thought their kids weren't going to go through with it, and were shocked when they did. The kids were surprised as hell when they opened the door or came out to the guy they were meeting only to see their parents show up shortly after. One dad hugged his crying daughter and said "we already lost your mama, what would I do if I lost you too?" I was just crying. It's so sad and scary how easy it is to get these kids.

Watching it now (started with the Pipe Nightmare episode) and it does seem like a great show so far.

Because of that it will probably be cancelled LOL but IMDB lists two episodes for a season 3.

Kacie Woody, and she and her mother were not their family's only tragic losses: http://www.arkansasonline.com/news/2003/dec/17/not-forgotten/?f=news-arkansas-specials-caughtintheweb

Finally caught this one last night and it gave me nightmares about bad people trying to win my confidence and lure me off alone. See my own bad cab driver story here. http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/showthread.php?t=325738&page=4 Although the final text made a chilling ending to the show, if the evil cab driver did indeed have his phone set to indicate aloud when he received a text, after a four-hour conversation he was taking a heck of a chance that Justin wouldn't text during the ride. I would sure write, "Where the heck are you anyway? This guy is driving me to the middle of nowhere!" or the like, and I'm not a texting fiend like Justin!

I tried to find a transcript of the conversation to see if Justin did send such a message but it seems the whole thing contained a lot of inappropriate content and a full copy is not available online.

As far as the cab driver freaking out, it was hardly remorse over murdering poor Justin. He was just upset that he had dropped his key, which turned up later right by the deceased victim's shoe.

A Justin Bloxom Bill, now law in several states, decrees that no convicted sex offender can work as a cab driver. It should be the law in every state, but then with all those insane Uber drivers, who needs psycho cab drivers?

Wow. Not only was the cab used in the crime destroyed on the sixth anniversary of Justin's death, the company is going out of business! http://710keel.com/taxi-used-in-justin-bloxoms-abduction-and-murder-destroyed/

LOVE this show, and wish it would come to Amazon Prime like other ID shows. Grrr.
