I really want to see a TV reunion movie with the actual characters not just the actors talking about the show.

My ideas:

Call it "Return to Raytown"

Mama: would basically be the same as she always was.

Vint: he's now the owner of Kwik Keys

Naomi: she's now manager of Food Circus

Bubba: he's now married with a baby boy and he's working for Vint at Kwik Keys and living in Mama's basement. He and his wife are the new Vint and Naomi.

Iola: she's still single and still lives next door to Mama but she now owns her own boutique shop that she bought with her inheritance when her mother died.

Tiffany Thelma: she's now 25 and giving Vint and Naomi a hard time. She's a single mother who's always asking Naomi and Mama for advice on life but she never listens.

Eunice: she pops in for a visit and is the same as always.

Buzz & Sonja: they aren't seen but are mentioned in a comical way.

It's a cute idea, but personally I don't want to see a reunion; I prefer to remember the show just the way it was :) And besides, it would be kind of freaky to see Mama be about "the same age" but all of her family to have aged 25 years, lol. The Facts of Life, which I also love, did a TV reunion movie many years ago and it just didn't add anything to the legacy of that series, IMO.

I'm just so hungry to see some new material! I know we get to see Mama every now and again but I'd really like to see the other characters especially Iola.

If a reunion movie is made, my only request is that they don't make it political. That would totally tarnish the whole legacy.

What I wish were available were the cast's auditions on tape. I would love to see Beverly's audition as Iola with the hilarious line about Roselle Huplander and the Pyrex of Alpo! :lol:

(Roselle would first be mentioned on the series by Iola in episode 38, "Best Medicine", the 3rd episode of season 3)

I agree! Ever since I heard Beverly tell that story I've wanted to see that tape. I love the way she tells the story about the "Pyrex of Alpo". I wish they would've put that in an episode...Rick Hawkins wrote so many hilarious lines.
