View Full Version : Silly Me
Smartboy 04-05-2015, 08:53 PM After reading over my last post on this page, I realized that I neglected to mention a very important component! I wrote a lot about the symbolism of the number forty-nine. I mentioned how fond I am of two hot babes who were born in 1949. One of these babes is the world famous Meryl Streep. My thread titled "Meryl in Boots" was in commemoration of the fact that the thread that I posted right before it had forty-nine views and zero replies. In my last thread, I mentioned how much Meryl Streep as well as Pamela Reed mean to me. However, I forgot to mention the fact that right below the last thread that I started there was another thread that presently had forty-nine views and zero replies! It was that reality that gave me the idea for the last thread in the first place! After coming back to my computer, I see that the second to last thread below this one still has forty-nine views and zero replies. That thread is titled "A Different Time Slot". I am so happy that I had the chance to straighten that situation out!
Wawwie 04-05-2015, 09:00 PM OK, still don't know what this has to do with Gimme A Break.

Both this thread and the one that I started before it pertain to "Gimme a Break!" on a variety off different levels. In the first place, just like "Gimme a Break's!" Lauri Hendler, Meryl Streep and Pamela Reed do an excellent job of making me drool! This is something that I pointed out when I first started this set of posts. On top of this, both of these babes were born in 1949. The fact that my thread titled "A Different Time Slot" had forty-nine views and zero replies inspired me to write something special about the number forty-nine. Finally, I mentioned how the only chick that I have an even bigger crush on than I do on any of the previously mentioned ladies is Helen Hunt. One little known fact about her is that she auditioned for the part of Katie from "Gimme a Break!" before Kari Michaelsen was picked for the part. After she did not get the role, she had a one-time appearance as Katie's pregnant friend Valerie in a first-season episode.

Were Meryl Streep or Pamela Reed ever guests on Gimme A Break?
If not, I still don't understand how any of this has to do with Gimme A Break. :)
P.S. Sure, you like Laurie Hendler who is on Gimme a break, so does that mean that any other girl you like is associated with Gimme A Break? I'm not understanding your reasoning.

In the first place, no neither Meryl Streep nor Pamela Reed were ever guests on "Gimme a Break!". At least not to my knowledge. However, Meryl Streep was mentioned once. But the context in which she was mentioned has nothing to do with either of my recent threads, so that is really besides the point. The main point of this thread and the one that I started before it has to do with the number forty-nine. When I started my last thread, the one that I had started before it had forty-nine views and zero replies. Meryl Streep and Pamela Reed were both born in 1949. That is how I tied them into the equation. I hope that clears things up for you.

Not at all. Millions of people were born in 1949. So what do Meryl Streep and Pamela Reed have to do with Gimme A Break???

I am well aware that millions of people the world over were born in 1949. I just happened to mention two such people who were special to me and who were born in 1949. Just like Lauri Hendler who was born in 1965 is special to me. Not to mention the fact that Helen Hunt who was born in 1963 is special to me. If there is any lesson that can be learned from all of this maybe it is that not everything can be explained through reason and logic.

OK :)
Bonniegirl 04-06-2015, 01:25 AM Erik Estrada ( Ponch from CHIPS) was born in 1949! He's hot and I really like him!!! ;)
So the point of this thread about being born in 1949 (even though it has nothing to do with Gimme a break) is because that 49 people checked out other threads but never posted and it reminded you of good looking people born in 1949. Is that right?

I would say that, for the most part, you got the point of this thread. By the way, you mentioned your fondness for Erik Estrada. He was mentioned on at least two episodes of "Gimme a Break!". The two that I am thinking of are "Mom's Birthday" and "Samantha's Protest". Do you remember the context in which he was mentioned in either of those episodes? If so, what did you think of them?

No I don't remember that at all! But I haven't seen Gimme a break in years!

Okay, well, both of these episodes have been uploaded onto You Tube multiple times. Just in case you are interested in getting acquainted.
