Have you ever heard a song, and for a long time thought it was by one solo singer or band when it was done by a completely different one?

For example, for a long time I thought The Breakup Song (They Don't Write 'Em Like That Anymore) was by Billy Idol and it's actually by The Greg Kihn Band. I still think he sounds kind of like Billy idol on it though.

For years I thought Come and Get It was sung by The Beatles but it's done by Badfinger, and Our House sung by Simon and Garfunkel but it's by Stills, Crosby and Nash.

I thought for quite a while that David Bowie's Modern Love was sung by Elton John.

When I was in CVS last week "Runaway Train" by Soul Asylum was playing and the cashier kept insisting that it was Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.

I get the Temptations and The Four tops songs mixed up a lot!

I once thought "United We Stand" by Brotherhood Of Man was a Partridge Family tune-I don't recall hearing the song until some time after the PF series debuted.
