Interesting list, though "Lovers in Common" is nothing special IMO and "Speed Trap" is one of my LEAST favorite episodes of the series (without Maude the show suffers and the Walter/Arthur-centric "Arthur's Medical Convention" episode from the next season has a much more original, interesting premise to make an almost Maude-less episode bearable).

I'd pick either "Vivian's Party" or "The New Housekeeper" as this season's MVE, and I do agree "The Kiss" deserves to make the cut and "Nostalgia Party" scores points just for the "Polly-want-a-cracker" line. Conversely, "Walter's Pride" loses points for it's "let's-put-Macy-in-a-fat-suit" gimmick.

I'm kind of torn on rating this season as a whole; there are some installments that rank among the series' best, but many that only qualify as mediocre.

While I do agree that there are a handful of mediocre entries (particularly in the latter half of the year), Season Three marks a comedic breath of fresh air for the series, and I think it has the highest number of gems -- particularly in terms of laugh quotients.

There's only one other season, in my mind, that comes close to matching the quality... Stay tuned!
