Dude111 03-19-2015, 12:41 PM Maybe people are sick of watching this cult of rich gay zombies laugh in their
faces all day?
Or maybe its because THERE IS NOTHING BUT RUBBISH ON JUST ABOUT NOW!! (I think thats it)

February was another heartbreaker for the $65 billion television ad business.
Commercial ratings — the viewing “currency” that determines what advertisers pay for TV time — cratered across broadcast and cable networks, marking the fifth straight month of double-digit declines for the industry.
“It’s clear the downward spiral in TV ratings continues with no end in sight,” media analyst Michael Nathanson wrote in a research note on Friday [more]Not really surprising!!

I hope the M-B, B-W, JF Productions come to Hulu or Netflix...shows like FH, FM, SBS, and HWMC just to name a few...
mets82 03-19-2015, 04:58 PM Doesnt surprise me. Look at how they treat classic shows. Hell, look at how they treat current shows.
HarryWild 03-19-2015, 10:21 PM There are just too many avenues of entertainment in today's world. OTA TV is geared towards the 18-34 grouping which is called Premium and it suppose to draw in the 35-49 grouping too.
But many have gone to interactive entertainment - Youtube, Hulu, Netflix, etc...
Only the ones with no internet connection watch TV like the good old days! I certainly do not watch many of the detective, crime solving drama on TV now with the exception of Backstrom which is report might get canceled. LOL! All of the others shows like CSI, Miami 5-0, don't follow logic in their conclusions if you follow the plot. At the last 12 minutes of the show; DNA for the most part is use to point the criminal. What are the detectives use for is my question? They just go through the motion and then the lab come up with the evidence and motive supply by the lab technician at the end of the show. A survey of law enforcement seems think that these drama type shows are a joke and watch them as comedies!
Mace Dolex 03-19-2015, 11:23 PM I mostly watch old reruns, todays new shows just try too hard and get canceled straight away without getting a chance to find an audience. And its mostly via binge watching reruns that I'm discovering other shows because the one day a week episode isn't cutting it.

My husband and I have all but stopped watching TV. My siblings and their families no longer much TV and my parents pulled the plug, so did my brother. If we could get any local channels for news and weather I'd pull that plug too. We don't watch TV on the internet because our internet is limited and it's all that's available.
Shows have certainly gone downhill, I'd rather watch paint dry.
broadmoor 03-20-2015, 09:57 AM I excised modern television entirely from my life. Our whole family has. Just got too tired of the constant barrage of filth and depravity (not to mention the insane amount of commercials). Every time I'd tune in the television, I'd encounter something basically spitting on my beliefs and my value system. So, to heck with it all. My life is so much better without all that abrasive noxiousness. If I'm in the mood for entertainment, I'll watch my large library of vintage fare on dvd. Other than a bit of news and weather updates via a local channel, I don't plan to have anything to do with current tv ever again. No cable. No dish. No streaming. Nothin.' Good riddance to it!

TV_on_the_Porch 03-20-2015, 04:38 PM Hear, hear! All I need to justify my cable TV is Rachel Maddow and The Daily Show. :ducky:
Yong Fang 03-24-2015, 07:46 AM I quickly gave up on Backstrom, and Dwight was by far my favorite character from The Office.
