March 11, 2015
CBS has given early renewals to comedy series "Mom" and "Mike & Molly", meaning that all of Chuck Lorre’s series on the network will be back next season.
Flagship "The Big Bang Theory" is one year into a three-season pickup.
The network is yet to confirm the renewal but cast members and writers from both Warner Bros. TV-produced shows have been tweeting about getting the pickup news today.

comedyfreak 03-14-2015, 02:56 PM Nice to hear, this is still a pretty good show.
veggie-tari-jenn 03-23-2015, 01:17 AM cool beans...great show....
Chocolate Moose 05-19-2015, 04:49 PM Wonder what the story line will bring ....
LeeBlue 10-07-2015, 10:23 AM This show hasn't been on yet this fall.
Has anyone heard of a premier date for Mike & Molly??
James28 10-08-2015, 05:08 PM Sadly, CBS is reducing their comedy hours this season to two (both on Thursday), so there isn't much room for Mike & Molly on the schedule, especially if Supergirl (which replaces CBS's last remaining Monday comedy hour) becomes a major ratings hit.
king of comedy 10-08-2015, 09:19 PM I'm sure they'll find room for Mike and Molly.
James28 10-11-2015, 03:03 AM They could air Mike & Molly's sixth season on either Saturday or Sunday.
If M&M airs its season 6 on Saturdays, this could be looked at as a burn-off before its cancellation (I'd hate to see that happen, though).
If M&M airs its S6 on Sundays, they can put it at the 8PM hour and pair it with the 2015 version of The Odd Couple, meaning that Madam Secretary and The Good Wife would be moved to 9PM and 10PM, respectively, CSI: Cyber, which is underperforming in its new 10PM timeslot, would be pulled from the schedule and burned off over the summer.
king of comedy 10-11-2015, 07:37 AM This could work.
LeeBlue 10-14-2015, 10:26 AM James28, you have a good suggestion for Sunday evening.
Putting Mike & Molly with the Odd Couple at 8:00 & 8:30 PM would be a good fit.
Let's hope CBS finds a place for these two comedies
James28 12-01-2015, 06:20 PM Mike & Molly's Season 6 premiere is set for Wednesday, January 6, 2016, at 8:30 PM, following 2 Broke Girls (at 8:00 PM). 6 of the 13 episodes ordered for this season will air on Wednesdays; a night for the remaining 7 is to be determined.
Also, one of M&M's stars, Billy Gardell, had an interview with the Milwaukee-area's CBS affiliate, WDJT, on November 10. Gardell said that based on the latest, abbreviated, episode order from the network, he thinks that Season 6 may possibly be the last one for Mile & Molly.

BigManMike 12-01-2015, 10:58 PM I hope they don't cancel this show. This is one of the few current shows on that I actually like.
LeeBlue 12-12-2015, 10:47 AM I also hope this isn't the last season for Mike & Molly.
Seems like there is a lot of territory that could still be covered.
Maybe Molly doing a variety of temp jobs or their deciding to adopt a child.
When it does end, the producers should give it a proper send-off.
But hoping for season seven, too.
James28 12-13-2015, 02:53 PM Season six of Mike & Molly has been confirmed as its final season, according to TVSeriesFinale.com (http://tvseriesfinale.com/tv-show/mike-and-molly-canceled-by-cbs-no-season-seven/). Co-star Rondi Reed, in this Facebook post from 9 December (https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10207420442380486&set=a.1041046397646.2008111.1570158953&type=3), shared some details of M&M's cancellation.

CBS has yet to comment on Mike & Molly’s status, but Melissa McCarthy and Billy Gardell have confirmed via Twitter that their comedy is ending with Season 6. McCarthy tweeted: 'I was shocked and heartbroken when @CBS canceled #MikeAndMolly. I would have shot this show for 50 more years. I'll miss my 2nd family.” PLUS: What’s next for Melissa McCarthy (https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/arts-and-entertainment/wp/2015/12/14/with-mike-molly-behind-her-whats-next-for-melissa-mccarthy/?)?
Yong Fang 12-15-2015, 07:55 AM I thought this show was a hit. It has ranked up there with one of my favorite shows and I am sad it is going off. Really going to miss Joyce, Vince and the hot, pot smoking sister (played by Katy Mixon).
I really thought this show would have two or three more years. Oh well.
babbagene 12-15-2015, 05:14 PM Let's face it , the only reason this show ever got on the air was because these two people were FAT SLOBS, they each have no talent. What do you think it's a coincidence that as soon as she lost weight the show was cancelled! The show should have never made the air from the beginning , it did only for the fact that the two stars were FAT PIGS!
Why ‘Mike & Molly’ Isn’t Going Out With A Bang (http://deadline.com/2015/12/mike-molly-cancelation-six-seasons-melissa-mccarthy-cbs-1201667941/)
Chocolate Moose 12-17-2015, 11:19 AM Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
That's interesting.
king of comedy 12-17-2015, 06:09 PM It will go soon.
ILuvCarolBurnett 12-22-2015, 12:44 AM The show just really never "clicked" for me. I wanted to like it, but there just wasn't that much chemistry amongst the cast and the writing was weak. I think Melissa McCarthy could do much better with another character and setting for a sitcom.

While I think that what you said is harsh, in some ways, I think it did seem to revolve around the fact that both stars were "plus sizes" in the beginning and that seemed to be the driving factor behind why the show was on. When you have that weak of a premise, the show isn't going to go far. Because Chuck Lorre was behind it, that is about the only reason it lasted six years.

Reality check. Not everybody in the entire is super thin. Remeber Roseanne? Before Mike and Molly there the Queen who started it all. There are large sized people everywhere and there are those who are funny and meet in the world.
James28 12-23-2015, 08:56 PM What about The King of Queens? That sitcom featured a "fat"/plus-sized/big-and-tall main character and that ran for 9 seasons. A long run compared to the six seasons Mike & Molly is going to be restricted to.
Also, Cannon, a detective drama that aired five seasons during the early-to-mid-1970s, featured a "fat"/plus-sized/big-and-tall title character.
liane60 12-27-2015, 03:02 PM I herd after this season it was canceled.
comedyfreak 12-29-2015, 10:43 AM That is a surprise to hear it's one of my favorite sitcoms. Oh well life goes on..

OK, now it’s really official: CBS confirmed on Tuesday that "Mike & Molly‘s" current sixth season will indeed be its last.
“These decisions are really challenging, and I have a tremendous amount of respect for Chuck Lorre and Alan Higgins, for Melissa McCarthy and Billy Gardell, the whole cast and crew. They put blood, sweat and tears into this show,” CBS Entertainment President Glenn Geller said at the Television Critics Association winter press tour in Pasadena.
“But I can confirm that this will be the last season of Mike & Molly. I think the fans will be very satisfied with what Chuck and Al have planned.”
News of the CBS comedy’s cancellation was first reported in December, when co-star Rondi Reed wrote on Facebook that the show was ending.
"Mike & Molly‘s" 13-episode final run airs Wednesdays at 8:30/7:30c.

Cyrax 01-14-2016, 03:33 PM I quit halfway through second season but I might binge-watch now that it is ending.

Dunno. I don't think the ending of 2 2/2 Men was very .... satisfying.
Will miss the show, it had some funny moments.
king of comedy 01-14-2016, 06:46 PM It had a good run. At least it showed a plus sized couple and for once the wife is not thin like other shows especially Fox'es animated intend to show.
Setiawan071 01-28-2016, 10:22 AM About time I`d say. I have seen many, many sitcoms in my life and seriously...this isn`t one! I tried to watch it, but I don`t have to laugh at all. Watching overweight people do stuff isn`t funny, you need them to say funny stuff, which doesn`t happen at all. And the cast is not really talented comedy-wise. Sorry, but I can`t understand how someone could send this on screen and not be ashamed.

This is the problem with most comedies today. They just aren't funny, laugh-out-loud shows. We have no comedy writers...NONE. They are all 20-somethings who grew up on bad TV thinking it was quality TV and it wasn't quality...it was BAD.
However, don't blame the actors. They are only as good as the material they are given.
LeeBlue 02-17-2016, 11:46 AM Mike & Molly is not in the TV listings for the next two Wednesdays.
Wonder what's happening. ????
Even if the ratings are down, I hope the show can finish up with a series finale.
Chocolate Moose 02-17-2016, 12:07 PM They know the show is ending, I'm sure they have something planned to go out memorably.

Usually Chuck Lorre shows go for many years, but 6 years is a long time. I herd it's being canceled because since Melissa has lost so much weight she no longer fits the character. But I'm happy for her because she has better health.
liane60 11-22-2016, 02:30 PM Chuck Lorre shows are always so funny. They aren't stupid like some comedies. I hope he can come up with some more since Mike and Molly and 2 and a half men are gone. He's the Norman Lear of the 90's and 200's.
