Cold Open - Kate McKinnon does a great wacky send-up of Hilary Clinton and her current email controversy, the skit is more interesting than the actual scandal.

Monologue - Chris Hemsworth was good in Thor and the Avengers movies, but can he be funny? Hard to tell from the monologue - all the laughs came from Keenan and Kate McKinnon. The Q&A bit was weird and still really didn't give the bit a whole lot of substance.

American Express commercial - this was a pretty good parody, Hemsworth was funny if a bit smarmy, but it was effective - especially because the real commercial (starring Mindy Kaling) aired immediately after it for me.

Brother 2 Brother - this was a pretty silly and predictable skit but it did have a couple of good lines. Hopefully the one joke about Hemsworth being tall and good-looking isn't going to be the only thing they focus on the entire show, because it seems like that they are starting to belabor the point. Taran Killam had a couple of good lines, but Aidy Bryant was the bright spot for me.

Empire - I really have no idea what this show is about other than the clips they have shown on The Soup, but this was my favorite sketch of the night. Keenan Thompson was hilarious, and Jay Pharoah, Michael Che, Leslie Jones, and Sasheer Zamata all had some great lines and made the characters funny. The fish out of water concept with Chris Hemsworth playing the new hire as the sole white guy was pretty good but secondary to the sketch as a whole.

Chicken Captain - this sketch was just weird; it wasn't really bad, but it was a little too stupid and predictable to be really funny. Hemsworth didn't do too bad for it though.

The Iggy Azalea Show - McKinnon was good as Iggy, the sketch was OK overall and had some good lines, but was just so-so.

Weekend Update - Leslie Jones is awesome as per usual, Michael Che and Colin Jost had a pretty good run at an idiotic "scientist", Jost made a strange flub of his lines that was funny and Cecily Strong closed it with a strong bit with “That Girl You Wish You Hadn’t Started A Conversation With At A Party”.

The Avengers - this sketch was stupid, but I liked it anyways. It was fun and Hemsworth actually made it better with his enthusiasm and strange interjections.

Soap Opera - Keenan was funny in this short little sketch, but the payoff just wasn't there for all the repeated takes and the few funny lines.

So You Think You Can Live With Brian - I usually don't like the Kyle Mooney/Beck Bennett shorts but this one was pretty funny. I enjoyed the references to all the different reality shows and the jabs they took with the most basic set of circumstances.

Dolce And Gabbana - I swear this was the only skit Vanessa Bayer was in all night, at least it was a good one. The ex-porn stars are back and the jokes are fast and hilarious, this was one of the better versions of this skit with some funny lines and Hemsworth was pretty good in it as well.

- overall a pretty decent episode, nothing really amazing though.

I loved the chicken sketch. It was pretty surreal. But, it felt like a throwback to the old days of SNL (Where alot of sketches were like that) I laughed harder at the show than I had in a long time during that sketch.
