....Jeffrey Tambor's.

Not taking anything away from the other stars of the show, but Jeffrey Tambor (a guest star on TC and co-star of The Ropers spinoff) has made the most of himself in the years since Three's Company. Recently he's had a revival with his show Transparent, but he never really went away. His credits include several big-name movies and TV shows.

Maybe Richard Kline is the other "critical" success, but I couldn't say since I'm not into the theater scene.

Everyone else sort of slid into obscurity or has passed away. I'm always surprised when I think of how little mainstream success John Ritter found before he passed. I know he was in a bunch of stuff here and there, but aside from small parts in a couple movies and 8 Simple Rules he never made it big.

Three's Company was never critically respected during its time, in fact if you recall on the DVDs even Richard Kline admitted at the time he thought it was a light-weight show.

Maybe a lot of people just didn't respect Three's Company and figured none of the cast could handle heavy roles.

SCTV was one of my favorite shows, or used to be anyway, and it's pretty clear they didn't have much respect for Three's Company or John Ritter with the times they mocked him on the show.

It's a shame John Ritter had to pass away before he became the big legend he is now. But he did always work. He was just never high-profile, but I'm sure most actors would love to be as busy as he was.

Sorry, I should have said Jeffrey Tambor was the co-star in three TC episodes

"Two Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" (he was the doctor who went on a date with Terri)
"Jack Goes to the Dentist" (the crazy dentist, also dating Terri)
"Father of the Bride" (the rich guy trying to woo Cindy)

I would say had John not passed away he'd still have steady work, he always brought class on anything he was in.

"Two Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" has always been my favorite episode mainly because of Tambor's awesome performance. The scene in the living room is unforgettable.

Yes, Jeffrey Tambor had the ability to ride the fine line between insanity and normality. Even we, the audience, who KNEW he was sane from the beginning of that episode, wondered if he was unhinged.

I think Tambor's physical humor fit in nicely with the show. The crazy faces he could make, and his tall, gawky appearance all factored into his humor.

Let's not forget (or maybe we should) that he was also the neighbor on The Ropers.
